He backs off, he turns around, he runs, it is still in front of him.

He turns around again, he sees his reflection. It's made out of lime colored currency.

It melts, he screams. The sound is not heard, the form grows again, becomer bigger than himself, swallowing him.

He drowns in the substance, the screams are still there.



"WHY CANNOT I EVEN SLEEP WITHOUT THIS TORMENT!?" Devin had awoken from his slumber, the harsh nightmare obviously taking more than a small toll for trespassing in his mind. He steps out of bed, puts on his green robe and walks to his warddrobe, he opens it and looks into the bottom drawer.

Millions of frog-coins, if one were to sprawl them all onto the ground they would probably cover the path from here to the Jul circus in green, and still have enough left for a cozy house made out of them. Of course that was not all that was in there... There was also a pump, the one pump.

The original pump.

He had kept it after Bloodstar's dissapearance, the one thing tha the felt could still leave a bond between him and Bloodstar. He took it up and looked at it.

"Man, why do I keep this around?"

He throws the pump back in the drawer together with the green coins.

"Why do I never buy anything for my frog coins!?"

He look at one of the coins, those things he just a few months ago had been obsessed with collecting, the things that once gave him will to live, now only gave him terrors beyond control.

"Why... Why did I keep this shit..." He looks at the coins again, before putting them back in the wardrobe.

"Why... When I could... Get rid of it."

Devin had decided, he picked up the wardrobe, that by all means should be too heavy for him alone, but in dire scenarios even old coin-hunters can muster the strenght.

He walked out of his house, into the forest, the trees covering up most of the sunlight above him. And he walked for a while, at least 17 minutes, until he reaches his destionation.

It was a giant lake in the middle of the forest, but Devin wasted no time with the nice sight, but merely threw his giant container, that which contained everything important to him. It landed in the middle of the lake, unceremoniously falling to the bottom. Devin didn't spend much time looking at it, he just turned his back to his old self, and walked away.

Once he was outside the forest again, a certain kind of feeling rose inside of him, a feeling that could only describe as a sort of nothingness, a feeling of not feeling. He payed it no heed, and walked towards the Jul circus.

As he entered through into the main tent, he would hear a word.

A word that would break him.

A word that would make him regret.

A word that would make him remember.

"inflation"

Devin's knees feel down to the floor under the pressure, his hands gripping at his face, crying in fear.

He screamed.

And this time it was audible.

And being an employee in a fast food restaraunt where employees shouldn't even be allowed in the manager's office on the computer, it's hilarious how two managers walked past and said nothing, and a third is watching me as I type this and not saying anything.
