I'm going to start off by voting for Mario Party 2. This Mario Party game had well designed boards and fun minigames!

Mario Party 3. Vastly improved duels and a drastic reduction in the number of button-mashing minigames.

Also, I liked Duel Mode.

Since I can't remember the other games very well, I'm going to go with Mario Party 5. The Super Duel mode was neat, and the boards were fun (if I remember right), but most of all there were some mini-games in there that I really loved. Tube It or Lose It comes to mind as one of the top ones.

Mario Party 1, all the way.

Four-Player Co-Op minigames were the best, hands down.

I voted Mario Party 2 since it did feel like the perfect sequel to the series. It polished out all the quirks and bugs the original has as well as add to the game in ways that improved the original.

Mario Parties 3 and 5 are really, really close, but Mario Party 3 wins out in the end. Puzzle Party~~

I voted for 3- part of that might be nostalgia (since it was the only one I had growing up, though I had played the other N64 ones through rental/friends), but I always enjoyed it a lot.

I... never actually played any of them except for three. I think?

They just never interested me, and they are not the kind of game you want for playing alone.

3, 6 and 7 are generally the best developed Mario Party games. They all have generally solid mechanics and a good collection of minigames. Overall, my preference goes to 6; the day/night mechanic was one I rather enjoyed.

5 is not quite as developed as its immediate successor, but is probably next up. Being able to use anything on any space can make for fun gimmicks.

2 has issues in its basic mechanics. The item system doesn't work as well as in subsequent games (except 4) but the minigame selection is good and the boards are definitely fresh and creative.

8 is difficult to play! The wii controls don't really work very well!

9 is... Uh. 9 has problems, and is generally even more random than previous ones. It's dumbed down. It is a baby game for babies.

1 has fun stuff about it but has an unfortunate tendency to literally destroy your hands. The control stick rotating thing is physically bad for you.

4 is kind of a trainwreck. The item system in it is terrible, it has very few good minigames, and... Yeah. It's the worst one.

Of all the ones I played multiplayer with a group of competent individuals, I actually found that 4 worked pretty great.

The minigames it had were great, anyway.

i played 9 with my girlfriend (and she was new to mario party in general so maybe not the best idea) and... it was boring

it was dull, boring, and there was really no competition--it seemed as if it encouraged too much co-operation and not enough death threats among friends.

Hard for me to choose, I like 1 but the Control Stick spinning minigames haunt me to this very day.
I'll go through with 2, Brought me so many happy memories before it vanished on me.
The amount of times I was sent back to the start in Pirate Land was ridiculous.
I sadly never played 3, 5 or 7 But Mario Party 4 is my favourite of the Gamecube ones. Simple, easy to play and some good minigame designs.
6 to me felt like a rehash with a somewhat cumbersome gimmick of the Day and Night system.
8 felt like a total disaster to me. Lacklustre board and minigame design and that rubber-banding AI was simply horrendous.
9 just doesn't feel like A Mario Party game to me, It feels more like a rip-off clone with no board and on rails party mode, the Minigames themselves don't strike "unique" or "Interesting" to me.

Oh god, 5. My sister and I played a 2v2 match against the CPU on that one asian-themed map. The CPU players literally couldn't get out of the first two areas of the board because EVERY TILE was a trap we'd laid down. They got absolutely destroyed in that game~

This basically sums up everything I wanted to say with the only difference being that I have only played MP DS.
