I occasionally download pages from the internet and archive them, because I feel that they are pretty important. I don't contribute to the Internet Archive, though, but maybe I should once I actually archive stuff that they don't have. I had a pretty huge Mac Classic software archive, but I haven't tested the hard drive it's on in a long time.

My method mostly consists of using the Save Page function, though I do use HTTrack.

Every rare once in a while I find a page that I consider worth it. But usually I only save the text and not the graphics or extra files..

Silly to save entire pages or sites for equal to a paragraph of material.

I've never done it- I've archived pictures or information from sites, but not the whole sites themselves... The closest I've done is downloading now-dead sites that others have archived before.

Back in July and August, I archived some great /mlp/ threads

The best has to be the feel thread with this post

I know how in theory, but I don't think I've ever actually done it.

I think I've done it just once, for a Kirby's Adventure hacking thing. It didn't go anywhere though.

I don't really have an use for doing things like that... I'll save pictures and text all the time, but the pages themselves don't strike me as much important. If something from a site is, I'd rather bookmark the site or something because probably it has links and more stuff related to it than the page itself alone

I've saved a few Homestuck pages (and I'm saving my copy of Cascade to share with my grandkids.)

A couple things from webcomics too. Actually just this page.

I've downloaded webcomics before.

This was mostly just so I don't have to reload the images every time I want to read the comic. A relic of the 56k days, but eh.

I have not only archived old webpages, but also reconstructed the PHP guts behind one of them when I inherited the site but not the data behind it. So yes. I am a pack rat of sorts. If it is important to me, I'll find it on archive.org and rebuild it.
