Unfortunately for me, I didn't inherit my father's beard. I have a mustache and I guess I have a Van Dyke beard, with a neckbeard. The underside of my chin down to my adam's apple. Hair.
I tend to shave every month.
Nowadays... I have white hair in my beard and 'stache so it's really annoying to get called "mister" more and more often. I'M NOT THAT OLD STOP IT T_T
I only shave because of work. Otherwise, I would have a bit of a beard.
I prefer having hair on my face rather than shaving, but my family doesn't agree. If I trimmed it it might make them appreciate it more but even so I would have to shave to appeal to work.

I used to be adamant about my goatee, but in the past year, I've happily done away with it. There have been a couple times where I have gotten incredibly lazy and let my entire neckbeard flourish, though. I just shaved my last one off this morning.

Ah, this was a pain in the ass, and possibly part of why I've done away with keeping facial hair around. (It honestly looks odd to me now, though, old pictures of myself with facial hair. Shrug.)
(also pseudo-related: I've never understood why "neckbeard" is so often used as an insult)

To be completely fair, I personally feel that neckbeards really don't suit the majority of the population. I've seen a few guys who pull them off quite well but for the most part they just look kind of bleh, IMO.
Foxhack's explanation does make sense, yeah. I'm not sure where the creepiness part factors in, though.

I have a small beardling growing on my chin. I usually shave everywhere else on my face. I can't seem to grow a mustache so that's about the only style of facial hair that really works with my reportedly "generic person"-style face.
