Installed Cyanogenmod on my HTC Desire. Now it's like a brand-new phone. None of that HTC/Android bloat!

Yeah, I'm currently procrastinating a bit too. It seems to be my go-to to distracting myself from work I don't particularly care for.

I'm probably off base here... but how proficient are you at it? You may be just trying a little harder with it, whereas with English you probably just feel comfortable enough to not really care. (at least, I'd imagine this may be the case with me in such a situation - only other language I know much of is Spanish and that uses largely the same alphabet)

That's basically it, yeah! I noticed it I do take the effort to get all the strokes accurately and I guess that's all the effort it takes for it to look neat. Basically, when writing Chinese I emphasize clarity, when writing English I emphasize speed.

I would post a picture ... but what I've been writing is my diary and I'm kinda too paranoid that a Chinese speaking person will read it (personal things in there!) ._.

Writing your diary in Chinese? That's pretty clever!

Just make sure not to forget how to read it later.

Yup! I need to practice handwriting the characters a lot because learning to read them is totally different from knowing how to write them off the top of your head.

As for not forgetting them, it shouldn't be a problem Reading has become pretty "natural" for me (I can read about 1000-1200 characters).

Okay, now that I've finally caught up on Breaking Bad, I can get back to everything else that needs doing. Like knocking some games off my backlog..

Also. I miss my cat.

Well, since I can't post a picture of my diary for paranoia reasons, here is a picture of my Chinese homework for today. It was done in haste so the writing is sloppier than usual, but still looks nice IMO:

Homework's getting tough ... one of the translation exercises was to translate "All immigrant families, during their first few years in a foreign country, will experience greater or lesser psychological conflicts that arise from heavy social burdens."

Ha, yeah, that does look pretty good! I don't know how your English handwriting looks in comparison though, so. Also, what are those underline-looking things? I've never seen those before.

(also I can't blame you for paranoia really)

Thanks! The underline-looking things are supposed to be underlines - but if you just make a single line then it could confuse people so I shape it in a way that it doesn't get mistaken for part of the characters. The purpose is to point out my use of vocabulary words from the book for the professor. For this reason, periods and commas in Chinese are also different (they're bigger ... a period is a small circle instead of a dot)

I looked at my ATM receipt today and realized I had disposable income.

As in "my friends will figure out a way to dispose of me if they saw that number".

I'm still basically underwater ... as in, I owe more in student loans than what's in the bank. The difference is not terribly big but it's there and growing with every year. :/

I'm technically underwater as well, but my student loans won't come due until like 2017 so I'm not worrying about it

Yeah, I'm in the same straights.

I just slowly pay off a chunk at a time, and try not to worry too much about it...

Going into debt due to student loans is one thing that seriously scares the everloving fuck out of me.

I'm paranoid I'll fall in and... won't ever be able to get out.

I probably worry way, way too much about these things. (I'm pretty sure if possible, though, everyone in their right mind would seriously prefer not to take any loans ever though if they could help it...)

I know that feeling, Bloodstar. Except if I don't get a job during the school year and "prove myself" to my mom, I won't be able to get a loan for my second year, meaning I'd have to go back home and get a job anyway unless someone else would be willing to be a cosigner.

I kinda have no idea what my mom's thought process is on that. If I don't get a job at school, then I have to get one when I'd have to quit school even though I haven't had luck getting a job in the first place?

I know that something's up for either next Thursday/next weekend. I can tell. Problem is I don't know what. :\

I mean, I *like* surprises. But it also drives you kinda nuts when you can't figure out what the surprise is.

I just returned to Green Night from Red Night.

Eesh, that was more jarring than it should have been. Then again, I was probably using Red Night for way longer than I remember, so.

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
