But now they're making a live action movie of Alivin and the Chipmunks. As seen here. I'm torn. I loved watching the cartoon when I was a kid..but binging it back in live action form....oh dear....oh dear indeed and now the song is in my head!!!!

I vaguely remember the series, but I don't remember liking it or not. I definitely remember something about red curtains in the main theme, though.

I remember loving the oldie chipmunk gang from... er, 12 years ago. With their sing-along tapes.

Anyway, I've got a hunch that doesn't really contrast so far, and it has to do with crap/fail.

Well, the only bad side is that they dub these kinds of movies (it is going to be a child's movie right?) often and the dubs do NOT sound good.

Maybe that is why I didn't like the show.

I watched the cartoon when I was younger. I probably wouldn't now, though (unlike, say, Transformers).

Urgh. I remember panning this ridiculous idea on another forum. In general, if you wish to revive an old franchise, don't use CGI and make a cheap live-action movie ala Garfield. It'll only make loyal people to that franchise attack you with soda cans.

This came up at my work's Christmas Dinner the other night. I remember the old The Chipmunk Adventure although all I remembered about it was that at one point the girls were kidnapped and made part of someone's Harem. Nobody at the Christmas Dinner seems to remember that though and they think I'm crazy now.

Wikipedia remembers. I'll show them... *shakes fist*

In Japan, to promote the movie, they had alvin and co remix a few songs of a popular japanese music group. You can look at the torrent.

BMF and I were browsing through Best Buy... I had a hard time not vomiting when I walked by the gaming section and saw they put out a game based on it.

The movie just came out (not that I'd see that either, seems like it'd suck like everything else lately ) ... then again, some movie games have been coming out before the movie even gets finished, so I should expect this kind of crap by now...

In their defense, they decided to make it a music game.

The reviews... not so kind. I think the DS version tries to be a horrid ripoff of EBA but I'm not going to waste flashcart space with it.

The voices of the Chipmunks are usually done by Ross Bagdasarian, Jr, and the Chipettes are usually done by his wife, Janice Karman.

However, the live action film does not feature the voice talents of either.

I thought it was just some people's voices sped up, as by that criteria almost any voice will do.

Considering the lack of any seeming plot to the movie, I don't think I'll be watching it (willingly) any time soon.

Additionally, the video game stuff doesn't surprise me. What surprises me is the lack of obnoxious ads talking about said crud video game. :p

I saw the previews, and all it does is looks like another kids movie with pop-culture references that the kid's won get so the parents won't be bored. But it's automatically funny because it's pitched up... -sigh- I hate movies these days.
