Awesome concept!

Only problem, your Readme dosen't make it clear what ROM to use...I used an original unextended, then an extended, and neither of those worked...so what ROM do I use?

Unless it's the same problem that Apioeus had with his Nightmare 64...I'm trying that next...

Edit: Nope, wasn't that problem.

An original 8mb SM64 (U) rom should work. If not, It may be a problem with the rom you have. The 'last modified' date shouldn't be after 2000.

I have some suggestions,

Perhaps you could make it so the marios can Battle each other, as in, IF you butt slam on somebody they will get crushed, when you punch them they get hit and knocked back, and perhaps maybe make it so the marios can Wall Kick Off of Each other.

Also if you could perhaps implement the 2nd mario to be completely redone as the luigi model from vltone, and maybe make a major rom hack with levels requiring some team work techniques to finish the levels.

I been having lots of fun, thanks a lot. also Give me your RDB file modification for your rom hack, I'll add it to www.pj64k.blogspot.com so people can use mario hack on their regular kaillera emulator.

Okay I think you messed some things up, The file's CRC info isn't [0ED61ED8-87F81B02-C:45] It's [0ED6437A-224DBC66-C:45]. Unless you fix this the rom file comes up as a broken file and can't be used on netplay.

Yeah my file had 2007 as the last modified date...

But no worries, I found your pre-patched version.

It's pretty cool...except I have many problems of the camera not being at the best angle so that one or both of the Marios was off-camera or hidden behind geometry. I also have a few freezing problems inside the castle.

One example of a freezing problem: Go outside to the castle backyard, then go back inside. Without moving Player 2, move Player 1 ahead and attempt to go out one of the wooden doors.

Edit: And I just managed to freeze it again...for no reason! Or at least that's what it looked like...ima stop playing with it now.

had a really great time playing this with a friend of mine it was really awesome.

Just a couple of questions:
are you going to continue to update this hack ?
and with this hack how far can you go?
like is there even a possibility to adjust the camera's and such?
I'm just a bit curious, because i really don't know anything about this .

Yes, there are still glitches I want to fix.
I don't know, 30 kilometers?
The camera is heavily modified.

I was pretty horrified this morning when I realised I uploaded a faulty PJ64k update which was downloaded 1300 times over night. I've updated the download again with corrected checksum. I don't even know why it changed, I didn't modify the rom.

Hey, my friend and I are trying to play this, but they see nothing but a blue ground when inside levels.
Inside the castle and outside of the castle, it's fine, but yeah.

Any idea how to fix this?

EXTREMELY awesome mod!!!

Me and a friend tested it. Did have a bit of lag, and some sync issues, but very fun to play with.

Sweet hack. One thing that would be extremely hard to implement (mainly because I wouldn't know where to begin) but I think you should look into is making split screens. If you need help, I would recommend contacting cendamos as he has written code for split screens in OoT. Perhaps you can adapt it to work with SM64.

Hello guys! I just saw this today and me and my roomate are trying to get it to work.

I downloaded the SM64 Multiplayer 1.0 (PPF). zip folder. Went into the PPF-O-Matic 3.0 and chose the Super Mario 64 USA rom i found, and for the patch I chose the SM64 Multiplayer 1.0.ppf and it does it but I'm not sure where to go from there.. Can someone help me out?

I just saw the link about the huge tutorial how to fix it, thx so much for whoever did that!

.... Here is the working CRC [10D05BDA-DD2A738B-C:45]. Now to avoid this issue next time, I'm going to explain to you how it works.

First you need Tool64 it's a file that has a grey squar with 6T4 in the icon. Open your rom directory then Click Rom Properties on your CHKSUM fixed version of the rom. It gives you both the CRC1 and CRC2 info.

It's made me upset now, I'd really like it if you'd just fix this your self instead of uploading the Broken CHksum rom's CRC into the RDB and RDX. =\

While providing the fixed checksum is great and all, please leave your drama out of this forum. Perhaps he is doing something silly. Well, don't fill up the topic with passive-aggressive gibberish then. Just don't post anything at all. This is not the "Life and Times of SM64" forum; we need not a Soap Opera about people not doing the checksum right.

And to show that I am serious, I can and will delete any continuation of this thread of checksum stuff in this topic--you can go argue in PM or something.
