| This game is a blast~
I've got a co-op team of a Chakra Outlander with a Berserker. Plus I've also go a single player character where I've just started an Engineer. Don't know what I'm doing with him yet. But I'm looking at all the skill trees and going "I want ALL of these skills". That's a good sign! ![]() |

Ctenophorae's chart at the start of the thread is no bullshit, the game really does genuinely improve on every single aspect of the original. Aside from those stats though, the game flat out plays better. The combat feels more impact-full and weighty. The spells are more thought out and have real strategic uses. Its not all straight damage spells. The passive spells synergize extremely well with them as well.
I have played Engineer, Embermage and Outlander so far, and each feels powerful and capable of handling any situation. Fun as hell to play too. I can't decide to stick with Engi or Mage though. This game is so full of convenience features too, it a gamers game through and through. The biggest convenience being your pets ability to sell and buy(consumables) from town while you stay in the field and kill shit. Never have to port back and forth to town. The biggest pro IMO is the map layout now. No more endless boring dungeon full of endless random hallways. Torchlight 2 has legit open space environments(still randomized) as detailed and fun as Diablo and with little events and random survival areas that mix things up. You do also get dungeons scattered around, but they don't go on forever and they always have a fun unique boss at the end that gives a good sense of accomplishment. Great game. Its $20 on Steam, get it now. ____________________ Visit Digital Space for my game news. |

So what builds are you guys using? I'm currently playing a Glaive-based Outlander on Veteran. Basic idea is you throw glaives to generate charge and hit crappy enemies in wide open areas. Spam sandstorm to stunlock heavier baddies or down narrow corridors (it does a number down them). No weapon mastery skills have been invested in yet, means that while I'm not overpowerful with a weapon type, I'm fairly flexible when I get new drops. Share the wealth to make charge amazing and to power up my co-op partner
I've been alternating between Shotgonnes and Dual Pistols mostly, although my build seems to work better when I've got a solid shotgonne on (although the loss of sockets is painful compared to dual pistols!). Stacking mana leech in your slots is really handy for this build as without any focus, you'll eat through all your mana really quickly. Stat build has been a ratio of 2 dex to 1 str and 1 vit. It seems to be pretty solid so far in terms of survivability, I've got about 50% dodge with the dodge passive coupled with the dex bonus and enough vit to ensure I haven't been one-shotted yet. At level 35 my current skills are as follows (roughly) Lore: Glaive Throw ~9 (Max at current level) Sandstorm ~7 (Max at current level) Dodge Mastery ~8 (Max at current level) Poison Burst 4/15 Share the Wealth (Max) Sigil: Shadowling Ammo 4/15 Spells: Adrenaline Burst II Treasure Hunter I Dual Wielding II Pet Mastery III |

Wanna have fun? Roll Berserker. Done.
For skills, I have Eviscerate, Blood Hunger, Cold Steel Mastery, Red Wolf and Stormclaw. When a game has good passives, which TL2 has in spades, I usually stick to em and minimize the active spells. Life leach, multi target hits and good things happen when I critical hit (which is often to put it mildly). Things die fast, that's all I know from this build. You can see builds and skills in this online calculator. It's a bit outdated at the moment however. This game just keeps getting awesomer by the moment. Did you know you can mix 2 set piece items to get a new one that has a damn good chance of being higher level. All those Ghastly shoulders that drop..make into a much more useful higher level item. The transmuter is unlocked in Act 2 and can make special socketables from common gems and upgrade your potions too. Current gear of note: Hmm..why can't I link Steam screenshots? ____________________ Visit Digital Space for my game news. |

| To link them properly, click the image to bring it up by itself, without the rest of the page. Then copy that location.
Edit: That said, those images are huge, and I'm glad you didn't have them inline. ____________________ Cordilon - Minecraft RP, and several other games too |

legacyme3 "In short, legacyme3 does horrible things to people, and I don't think anyone else on Jul should be exposed to him, no matter how decent of a person he pretends to be." I don't normally ban for offsite behavior but you're a whole level of terrible. I actually JUST got the first game for free, so I'm just now getting into it.
I also never played Diablo... Anywho, the first game is pretty fun, and the second is apparently great... so I'll probably be picking it up at some point in the future once I finish the first. ____________________ What Would Leggy Do?![]() |

| I've just finished the game on Veteran with my Fungineer (Now after with my co-op Outlander).
Build was as follows: 5/15 Ember Hammer 5/15 Dynamo 10+/15 Overload 10+/15 Healbot 1/15 Immobilisation Copter 10/15 Armour Mastery 10/15 Fire and Spark Stat Build: 1 Focus 1 Vitality .3 Strength Basic strategy was run into a mob of bads, use dynamo to gain charge and let off overload like a portable nuke suit. If the enemies were tough/had armour/shield and whatnot, just wail on them with a 5-charge Ember hammer. ![]() |
