...I can't not feel at least a little respect for that, whether or not it was actually his idea.
Can't help but hear "Oh hey, I could make a whole lot of attention from this!".
Agreed.
I actually have a lot of issues with Justin Bieber
as a person, not just because he's a bad musician. The fact that he's a hyper-conservative fundie (from everything I've read) is just kinda gross to me. (He did contribute to the It Gets Better campaign, but seeing as how he also said sexual orientation is "everyone's own choice", I'm not convinced of him having any sincerity in that regard whatsoever.)
He does visit children's hospitals, which is admirable, but overall he just seems like...well, kind of a scumbag.
I'm also kind of annoyed that someone with so little talent has managed to become so rich and famous, whereas actually
good musicians tend to get left in the dust in comparison.
Tl;dr: I'm really not convinced of his sincerity in regards to this, or in regards to a lot of things, really.
EDIT: According to Wikipedia, he did throw up on stage, but it was due to "a diet of milk" (which raises a lot of questions, really). So even if it was in memory of a fan, that had NOTHING to do with him puking.
EDIT 2: And apparently it was just his first show for a world tour and not in memory of a fan.
