The new, more subtle, Fox News!

Seriously, what's happening to our media? Seems like everything Murdoch touches turns into manure.

There are good reasons why I mostly never read any news media these days... and when I do, I do so with a couple of barrels of salt.

Media always sucked. The "Penny Dreadfuls" literally led to genocide by claiming completely peaceful and harmless Native Americans were killer savages raping and pillaging the countryside.

There was a time during Vietnam and the era of chaos surrounding it that, due to a lack of a political hegemony, and due to odd solitary newscasters like Cronkite, than it was independent and basically muck-raking both sides for their badness, but that fell down once the new political order solidified.

I was under the impression everyone already knew that the WSJ was toilet paper, but I guess now it's official.

Surprise!

Considering articles like this being written with lines like this:

I would be hesitant to call it the new "Fox News" just yet.

To be fair, Fox News does things like that on occasion, too.

On the other hand, to anyone paying the slightest bit of attention to facts, Ryan’s speech was an apparent attempt to set the world record for the greatest number of blatant lies and misrepresentations slipped into a single political speech. On this measure, while it was Romney who ran the Olympics, Ryan earned the gold.
