Touhou edits? Oh man, you have not seen the pony edits then!

This guy got even more of them on his youtube page!

Also, the guy in the Terraria video is the goblin merchant, the girl with the mic is the engineer. (And I believe they sorta hinted some sort of relationship in the game.)

For those wondering whether the PC version will be getting the new content for the console update:

Originally posted by MrRudi, representative of 505 Games
Will the new content be made for PC?

As it sits right now (and many of you have posted this as well): we at Engine Software do *not* have any rights to work on the PC version. We are making the XBLA/PSN port with additional content as we were hired to do by 505 Games. We were hired by them because 1) we worked with them before on two DS games and 2) I personally was already in contact with Red and Tiy way before Red quit updating the game discussing possible ports (although we were talking about 3DS back then).

So unfortunately, I can not say whether or not the PC version will get the new content, it is not up to me, or 505, it is up to Red. If at this point he has the confidence we will treat his property right, perhaps he is willing to allow it, maybe he will give it to Gaslamp Games, maybe he doesn't want anything to change after 1.1. I simply do not know. I do want to state that bringing the new content to PC is not something easily done, as we rewrote the game for the new platforms (including going from C# to C++ for PSN) before adding content...it would require quite some work. Would I love to do it? Absolutely! As one of you mentioned in this topic in regards to 505: they really never did much in games like Terraria so they must be stoked working on it...I can say I am stoked. All the controversy, complaints and raging does not change that. I am stoked.

Hopefully the situation regarding the PC version will change, but in all reality it is Red's decision and whatever he wants you will have to respect. I fully understand the frustration being vented here and on Facebook, but if you want control over what happens to a game: make your own. Red made a fantastic game that took off like he never expected with all the ups and downs that go with it, he deserves a little bit more respect for what he created, not disrespect for what he did not. But that is my opinion and nothing more than that. If you look at our trackrecord you can imagine I am used to being yelled at, so feel free if you feel the need to.

Short answer: 1% chance.

Edit: Oh, this was said monday. Probably everyone interested in this already knows.

Officially a 0% chance.

So surprise, everyone that got angry over the ports getting new content were right all along.

What a dick move, Relogic. Take the group of people that got you off the ground in the first place, and throw them to the side. Nice going.

Yeah, pretty much.

*Stigandr shrugs.

Still. All the blame falls on Redigit; if Engine doesn't have permission to work on the PC version, they can't do shit even if they want to.

Not that this is going to matter to most people.

I'll buy it if the new content is worthwhile and the controls translate well, otherwise I'm skipping it.

Conversely, I will on principle avoid purchasing from redigit/relogic/whomever. That kind of a move, to intentionally limit the very people who got you off the ground is a dick move, and doesn't deserve support.

to make up for the awful control scheme it's gonna get

I don't know. Minecraft (360) had a passable control scheme. Not great, but good enough that if it weren't behind by so many updates I'd consider getting it to play with my cousins.

There'll probably be a demo (which is how I tested Minecraft), so it shouldn't cost anything to find out.

Minecraft has a very, very simple control scheme; it's a typical FPS, so you just point your view to whatever you want to hit and boom. It's even got right and left triggers to simulate the whole mouse thing. Menus are pretty trivial on top of that.

This, however, was designed to be played with a mouse. You have a (roughly) 10x7 area you can do things in, and doing that is going to be hard unless they just use one stick for movement and one to "aim" (and even then, unless they expect people to be great at tilting, it's going to probably be limited to a 4x5 area directly around your character.)

Reading 505's response, though, I think it's clear that the thing that needs to be shamed in all of this is definitely Relogic. He's literally my boss. "Yeah sure, work with this other crap version and use it in your area, but you're never ever ever ever getting the keys to the real one, ever." (Net effect: you end up with the same disjointed updating shit.)

Ugh.

You still weren't entitled to the new content on the PC, dick move or not.

Can't really blame the console devs here for this, though. They have a job to work on the console port, so they gotta do what they can to stay afloat. I'm sure if they were allowed, they would not hesitate to bring the PC these features, but obviously that isn't going to happen because of some moron.

No, but a lot of us would've paid for an expansion pack.

It's irritating to see the stuff that was in the works for PC (the drill, at least) show up in this console version.

Redigit has been hinting on Twitter and Terraria Online that he may be picking up coding Terraria again.

Maybe slightly more than hinting.

Not sure what'll come of this, but maybe it's not worth completely shrugging off just yet.

Just imagine how livid the community would get if they riled up then just abandoned (again).

Hrm...

Well I think I'll be buying the console version for Xbox 360.

I was actually an alpha tester from February-April 2011 (before publicity), because I was involved in the community for his other lesser known game called Super Mario Bros. X (not to rain on anyone's aforementioned parade but Terraria was somewhat better back then, and not just because the default character graphics were from Final Fantasy IV).

Games evolve, sometimes things improve, and sometimes they don't.

What was different in that early version? Crafting, enemies, control?
