There's a silverfish in the bathroom on the rug. It was surprisingly mellow. It didn't flee when I touched its antennae, and actually followed my finger around a bit.

Also, coming up with character names is hard...

Don't remind me about silverfish. I had to squish them because my parents thought they were too cute to kill, and I agreed up until I regularly would see two or three at once in the bathroom.

Doesn't help that cockroaches have been popping up in the basement, afaik. Well, I only saw one, and it was crushed dead, most likely accidentally, but no one noticed the dark carcass on the white marble for days.

Spoiler - things haven't been "solved" yet. But they are at the same time.

I don't know, I guess I'm just going to have to hope I find a job as soon as I get there, since it's apparent I'll be waiting forever for her to get one.

Only thing that sucks is I'll be living with her friends, rather than her friends AND her. She's the whole reason I'm going. I don't really care to live with her friends, but it's the only way to even be together now so ugh. Ok.

Long story short - I guess I'll hold out hope a little longer before just deciding I can't have what I want for a little while LONGER. Just wish I knew how long that little while was.

I'm making a really concentrated effort to move to Portland as soon as possible as well. I hear the job market is rough there so I'm trying to use my connections to get a job. I probably won't move for a while.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with living with someone's friends. I know you want to be with her but that's not really a bad compromise unless her friends are really annoying or something. I bet she'd actually like it if you became friends with her friends.

Which part are you going to be staying in?

I'm actually already friends with her friends, they love me apparently. I think they are ok, but I don't really like the idea with living with them. At least not since she'd still be living with her parents until she gets a job. I mean I know it's petty, but it kind of irritates me that I'd be taking such a huge step, and she wouldn't be able to take a small one (relatively of course).

I would be staying close to the Gresham/Portland line, and I know the area well enough, it's not far from one of the local community colleges (Mt. Hood) that her friends and her go to (although Tabi told me a while back she doesn't have the money to attend this semester)

I dunno, I'll probably get over it soon, and just deal with it, move out, and wait some more... but I really wish things would just work the way I want them to for once. I'm getting sick and tired of nothing being within "my" control.

Periodontal scaling - AKA - oral torture! It doesn't hurt that bad since they numb you up, but the sound is horrific. It sounds as if their carving out murals in your teeth. Plus, bleeding gums for a day or two is not fun. It's not profuse but I can taste it still.

Oh that's pretty far out. I've never really gone further east than 36th. I mean, I went to Gresham by car once to climb Mt. Hood but that's it. Have you been downtown? It's pretty cool there and that's where I hung out most of my trip!

Yeah, I spent a good deal of time downtown. It was so surreal being there after seeing some of the landmarks in pictures.
