In particular, music you'll never hear in game. I want to rip a possible unused track from Battle Cars and I don't know where else to ask besides you guys here in the ROM Hacking forum. Any help?

I think Zsnes has a music dumping function... though that one only dumps the current track if memory servers me correctly....

Yeah, sorry, I forgot to mention that I already know how to do that. What I need to know is how to rip a music sequence that's never loaded (as far as I know) and play it back as it would sound on the SNES.

SIDEWAYS SLASH
Well, the obvious way that can be done is by forcing the game to actually load that sequence.

Sometimes a simple music modifier works, specially if it's something like the music of an unused level. But for trickier cases like melodies buried far in the ROM you'd probably need to do some bank switching magic and stuff I have no idea of.

Alright, thanks. I have no idea how to do that either but I'll learn now, I guess.

And once you have it ripped, there are plugins you can get for Winamp (I use the one from zzKnight and _Demo_, though it's really old), as well as plugins that let you export as a different sound format. The one I use, File Writer (out_filewrite.dll) can export to .OGG, which is great.
