Remember when it was once said, that Square was going to ignore making a sequel for this, and just keep on with the crappin' out the Final Fantasy games that don't even sell that well?
Well... guess that's still so, huh?
Pity that. A TEWEY 2 would have been one of the few times I'd have bought a game new. I don't even have an iPad/iPhone so this port is entirely out of my reach. (Wouldn't be buying it at that price anyhow.)

I loved TWEWY. My first JRPG I ever gave a shit about and beat. Am I upset it's not a sequel? Sure.

But I think this was necessary for the franchise. They needed to scale back the gameplay because it had a steep learning curve, and they needed to get an audience for it to make a sequel worth the effort. A high priced release on iOS is an attention grabber, and it's a complete, long, game. The core story and such are still there, but it's simplified which is exactly what the iOS audience wants. This will boost interest in the series, and hopefully warrant a sequel. This is why I'm okay with the decision.

All of my this. I usually get weird looks for this, but I despise TWEWY. I thought the gameplay was a hideous, overcomplicated clusterfuck that made the game impossible for me as a player to enjoy. (I also absolutely hate Tetsuya Nomura's art style, but that's a minor nitpick.) Trying to juggle two screens worth of a battle was honestly way too much for me at the time, and after trying a friend's copy, I pretty much wrote the game off as "This is something I will never play or enjoy."

Now, if this goes on sale, I might give it a try. It won't save the art from being Kingdom Hearts Lite, but I could probably ignore that if the game itself is good.

with the DS game could turn on auto mode
for the top screen and it would do everything for you

that way you could play with just the bottom screen

I ran with that until I got the hang of doing both


also truthfully I don't see the port as a bad thing

but it totally didn't deserve a countdown page
like it was actually going to be something important
