When I uploaded my videos for the mkds page,
it came up with those wonderful related videos

well . . .

people with really crappy cameras have found out that
the store demo has more unused tracks and
the missing textures for the four left in the game

The demo came out before the game, making it a beta I guess

unseen64 has more info


And for some odd reason, the demo was actually dumped.



Before I do actual work, that does count as beta stuff, riiight?

all the courses are hidden in the demo,
and they all have their textures too

moving the courses around in the demo will crash it,
and the textures are stored differently in the final game,
so they cannot be easily copied over

It turns out that somebody already ported the tracks into the final mkds game

but they evidently didn't know what patches are
aka rom downloads  

so I'll just use that to make videos

Okay now I have two videos for every track.

is it a possibility to embed things in a rotater like this


otherwise that page might end up kinda swamped

Well, actually, the final stores the textures in nsbtx files, and the demo stores theirs in the nsbmd. Also, the falling off crash thing is because the Respawn IDs are not there and the Y angle is at 0. So, they need to be fixed in order to stop the freezing when falling off. I'm on DSHack.org, that's how I know all this stuff by reading old Mario Kart CW threads, and other threads on that forum.
