On a different note, there is an oddity in Final Fantasy V involving a staircase out-of-bounds with a burning sprite on top of it.

Nobody seems to know about this.

In Final Fantasy 5, immediately upon entering Leviathan's cave, you can step one tile down toward the exit, and now you can move left and right and walk behind the walls.

To the northwest, there is a burning staircase:

It is not possible to walk up it ... what in the hell is this? I understand a bug that lets you walk through the walls, but I don't understand why they'd stick a staircase with a fireball on it in that empty space. There must be something more to it.

Save State for bsnes v082-compatibility:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=35IRM15L

(or get the Save RAM from zophar.net and choose slot 3, get to Leviathan's cave via the submarine.)

Would someone please try hacking the ROM to let you walk on that staircase and see where it goes?

http://board.byuu.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1952

I was gonna add it to the article, but the strict image requirements put me off from doing so. As I didn't take the screenshot, I dunno if it'd get chewed out or not.

Minor discovery here:

Namco Museum Vol. 3 retains HUD graphical assets and sounds from Vol. 1. I'm would naturally assume that also goes for Volume 2, but I've never owned it and can't say for sure.

not only tenshi, Hong Meiling has at least 1 sprite, unfinished too, Utsuho has 1 too unfinished,Sanae has 2 placeholders (unused too) with very basic draws and various not used sprites, Reimu Hakurei has a attack unfinished

this is all found

OK, we've found this stuff, but nobody wants to make an article out of it? What the heck?

I guess now would be a good time to add that stuff, since I was in the process of adding some Touhou stuff (the unused song in HRtP and the unused sprites in EoSD.)

I might add the SWR stuff after I finish the other articles, but I haven't played SWR yet so maybe someone else can do it

Sometimes it's not about the "want". It's about the "can".

I would love to make an article but I don't own the game. Likewise with tons of other things that have been posted here, and all over the internets.

As long as there's a record of these things in the thread, someone will see it and eventually make an article out of it. All I can say is "be patient".

I own the game, but I forgot both my wiki username AND the password to it...
...heck, are we really THAT unlucky?

If you remember what stuff you worked on at the wiki you can check the article history to see who edited the stuff, and your username should be in there.

I made the original article to "MegaMan 2 - The Power Fighters". However, I don't remember, that my name was TrebleTrouble...
...whatever, I'll make a new account then.

In F-Zero Climax for Game Boy Advance, I found samples for "SUPER FIRE" and "SUPER BOOSTER" directly before the used "BOOST FIRE" and "BLACK FIRE" samples.

The second, long "BOOST FIRE" sample is used when you use a regular boost while doing that spinning move. "BLACK FIRE" is used when you use vehicles certain vehicles.

"SUPER FIRE" and "SUPER BOOSTER" aren't used at all, to my knowledge. There's also a few more in-game quips from the announcer, but I don't know if they're used. Since F-Zero Climax's announcer always speaks in English, here are the lines:

"Take it easy!"
"Don't give up!"
"Power Level at Critical!"
"You're taking damage!"
"Hang in there!"

I already documented this on the Wiki (under my Youtube user name), but I have a collection of .ADX files from a "Sonic Mega Collection" game rip that I obtained two weeks back or so. Along with the unused Softdec codec video, there's also a file called "Demosound.adx". This file is a track from Sonic Adventure 2, and it's name implies that it may have been used to test the ADX sound format.

Yet again, why didn't Sega just remove all of these unused files? That would have left TONS of room for Sonic CD. I think they wanted to port the Sega/Mega CD version, but couldn't because emulation for the add-on wasn't perfected at the time. After all, didn't Mega Collection use some sort of modified version of GENS to emulate the Genesis titles?...But then, why didn't they just port the PC version like they did in Gems Collection?

The Dota2 devs packaged up a bunch of ad-libs from the voice recording session for the character "Undying" and left them in the game files for people to find.

We thought it'd be fun to box some of them up and send them out for the community to find and enjoy. They're not hooked up to anything in-game, and never will be as they break lore and, sometimes, character.

I need... gummy vitamins. What I like about them is they're chewy, and... they have a berry taste. Gummy vits are a lot like the gummy worms you get on Halloween; this is different though, it's healthy.

I need to work out more, but... my arm keeps snapping off.

...really cool magnets!

I'd fathom Sonic CD could partially be blamed on not getting a working version up intime for release. Given, yes, I know it was quite idiotic to blame lack of space for it, when the huge video file could have been removed instead, but that's neither here nor there.

Compare the version that got onto Gems, which runs pretty okay, but has a lot of bugs, including the off sync credits and ending. Imagine if they released it on SMC without bug fixes.

Some thanks to Whitehead and the Retro Engine, though. Can enjoy it on my iPod and 360, and not have to fix it for Dino Libraries.

Also, I'd love to document Borderlands, but again, I don't have the PC version. Still, all the info is interesting.

Have you ever heard this version of the narrator's voice in Super Smash Bros. Melee (16:00)? I do not hear anywhere in the Sound Test (Debug Mode).

nr_title.ssm

Would it not to do with one called "Sakurai"?

SFXNR_TITLE_SAKURAI dose not work in either English or Japanese on version 1.2 of Super Smash Bros. Melee. Not sure if it works on other versions. I just tested it on my copy. So no, I have not heard it before.

Isn't Sakurai the head of the Smash Bros. games?

This amuses me.

Yes, that's it.

I noticed in the Sound Test (Debug Mode), there are twice the voice used in SSBM (US/EU). It is possible that this is also him.

More progress.

Some rooms have graphical glitches, because the game swaps in different tiles when you travel to different parts of the room. Seems like it will be a pain in the ass to handle, so I've skipped it for now.

Secret message (anyone know what is means?) with a view of some graphical glitch on the side.

Edit:

There's a few unused rooms that look like they were used for testing. Example:

Again, some new content that I'm leery on adding due to the image guidelines of the wiki.

Someone found this code in Simon's Quest.
