http://myvideogamelist.com/
As you can guess Myvideogamelist is attempting to become like Myanimelist but for videogames. The only problem is its only being run by a single person and needs help from the users to add videogames to the database and any suggestions/ bug fixes there are. The reason i'm posting this is because i believe the site has potential but just needs a good shove in the right direction. So is you've got some spare time give it a try and fill up the database or see if you could do anything else helpful.

Does this person need someone to just manually add games in to the database from an existing list? Or just search out and find names of existing games to add? If it's the latter, just point 'em to GameFAQs; they have just about every game ever made.

No its users can add any game they want to the database themselves but since there isn't many users and the owner is quite busy there isn't much of a database at all. I could probably do that to help out though.

If you're going to list games you want/have/finished/etc. then why not just use the Backloggery? I don't think it has a list of every game ever made, but I don't see how that's a big problem when you can just, y'know, enter the name manually.
I can see the database of all games' information being useful, but again, you could just use GameFAQS.

Wikipedia also has a full list of game releases, if I'm not mistaken.

Oh man. I needed the laugh.
I'd help but I'm involved in running a collecting site myself... so.

why...is that funny. it's user-contributed, and the only users who would probably be contributing to a list of game releases are...well, gamers? I don't see then how it would be any less accurate than anything else. If nothing else its at least a big 'ol list of games, so there you go.

SIDEWAYS SLASHOriginally posted by Delpolo I don't think it has a list of every game ever made, but I don't see how that's a big problem when you can just, y'know, enter the name manually.
Fun fact: It actually used to have a games index. You can guess how that went.

You must not be very familiar with Wikipedia's roaming band of nerds that delete anything that isn't notable.
Lists of games? That's not notable. There are thousands upon thousands of games that aren't, and will NEVER, be listed in Wikipedia solely because of that ridiculous and idiotic mindset that these... people, for lack of a better word, have.
They were going to delete a page for a game I made BECAUSE IT WASN'T NOTABLE. It was a freakin' Gamecube game. How is that not notable? Many games have no sources on the internet simply because nobody's ever written about them.
Wikipedia is not, and should NEVER, be used as a source of information for lists such as this.
Console and system-specific sites are much better sources than Wikipedia.

To be fair, I would think writing an article about a game you yourself made would be in violation of the "no original research" rule anyway.
You sure he didn't mean that they were going to delete a page he made for a game?

I made a page for a stupid Gamecube dance pad game. I'm not a programmer or a game developer.

Very incomplete. While systems that have been documented for years, such as consoles, will have most if not all games, other stuff like old computers will not. Or modern computers too.
The big problem is that the lists can be modified, but any changes may be reverted because you can't prove that the games exist according to their rules.
Not to mention many of their lists don't include basic information like publisher, developer or year of release. However, individual pages, when they exist, do. Sometimes.
