Yeah, I don't understand why people keep remaking Gold. Especially after nintendo did it themselves and shat over anything us mere hackers can do with the game engines.

Still, there are some cool things that appear out of the pokehack community...most just happen to be in Spanish and thus completely incomprehensible to me.

The main problem with Pokemon hacks is that in like 90% of them either it still feels like the original game it came from (Quartz is especially guilty of this), they're too small-scale, or try to be too large-scale and fail horribly.

There are a few gems here and there though

I just have to get this off my chest. It makes me sick how easily manipulated the users at SMWC are. I'm tired of seeing the moderators and administrators being praised by users as "teh best ASM programmer evar!!!" without having to contribute anything.

Back in 2008, one of the mods claimed that the SNES can't display more than 3 or 4 sprites onscreen without major slowdown. I proved him wrong with a huge wall of math. He kept defending himself by stating that he's the moderator and moderators are never wrong. He banned me for it.

Since then I've made a gazillion technical demos, with tons of sprites and shit onscreen, proving my point, and the people at SMWC still think I'm an idiot, despite the fact that I've proved myself wrong with my own ASM skills hundreds and hundreds of times before.

I fired a couple of folks some PMs to close this anyway. It's only going to go downhill from here (guaranteed!), and I don't feel like constantly arguing either - especially over something that's four years old, fuck sakes.
