...wait, it's already out? I didn't know that.

What I said doesn't apply to Fire Emblem, then, but it's still a legitimate reason for why games such as Paper Mario sometimes go unseen for a year.

This was posted a couple days ago, but hey, never hurts to bump it back up again.
Taking a deeper look at the 3DS release sheet, and Ubisoft has their first batch of Imagine™ shovelware titles showing up the 3DS this fall!! Now why wasn't that part of their presentation? :specialed:
I missed Kirby's Dream Collection on the Wii list too. Cool, though it's probably the same thing we had with Mario's 25th anniversary, a collection of the games that are already available on the Shop Channel.

Also, sure'd be nice if people who paid $10 for Cave Story DSWare got an upgrade to Cave Story+. But this is Nintendo + Nicalis, can't ever see that happening. :/

Ideally, the Kirby collection should be what's on Virtual Console plus KDL 1+2 since it'll look weird without those.

I missed Kirby's Dream Collection on the Wii list too. Cool, though it's probably the same thing we had with Mario's 25th anniversary, a collection of the games that are already available on the Shop Channel.

Hey now, to be fair - it was Super Mario All-Stars which isn't on VC for pretty obvious reasons.

Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition includes six games that span a portion of the character's history, according to CoroCoro magazine.

The list out of the magazine notes the following as included on the compilation disc:

- Kirby's Dream Land (Game Boy)

- Kirby's Adventure (NES)

- Kirby's Dream Land 2 (Game Boy)

- Kirby Super Star (SNES)

- Kirby's Dream Land 3 (SNES)

- Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (N64)

The Japanese version of the collection comes out July 19, with a North American release (presumably with the same content) scheduled for September.

The collection gets a slightly reduced price and simplified control scheme for all included games.

Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition, known as Hoshi no Kirby 20 Shūnen Special Collection in Japan, will be priced at 3,800 yen (roughly $48) in Japan. Pricing on Wii software varies, but new Wii games in Japan typically retail for around 5,800 yen (almost $74).

Kirby's Dream Collection will also feature support for holding the Wii Remote horizontally as a control option for all of the games in the collection, including Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. No other control details are available at this time.

Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition contains six Kirby games and several extras as well. The game is set to arrive in Japan on July 19 and in North America this September.

My thoughts are "Oh boy, more rereleases. Just what we wanted."

Don't get me wrong, I love Kirby games. I still have that opinion though.

cpubasic pretty much sums up my thoughts on the subject.

The kirby collection on the SNES was more creative as well as the one for the DS.

Uh, Kirby Super Star was a game on it's own, not really something comparable to a collection.

Anyway... I'm a bit disappointed with this. Much of Kirby are the side-games, so the lack of all of them is pretty noticeable. Also I'm guessing there won't be much of extra things either... Perhaps a soundtrack or small promotional papers, but that's it.

Super star was not a collection of old games, but I still say it's a collection of games.

Kirby Air Ride is my favorite game in the franchise, so I'd have liked to have seen it on there. But I knew it wasn't gonna happen, considering how much effort Nintendo put into a Mario collection..

In the old days, I'd kill to go to E3. These days, I live near it and still won't go to it, because it's got nothing interesting there anymore.

I've just sort of moved on to PC gaming. The consoles are stale and dead, and trying to be something I hate--iPad/Android garbage. I'll just stay away from both and keep upgrading my PC, thank you very much.

It's already been confirmed that in the least it'll contain a new set of challenge stages based off the mode from Kirby's Return to Dreamland, as well as the usual CD/booklet things and a mode showing every Kirby boxart or such. That said, it still is a bunch of emulators, just ones with a much nicer container... I kinda miss the pre-emu days when such collections ported from the source code instead, providing slight tweaks and differences.

Still, since there was no existing collection title unlike Mario, who's SNES title would devour the NES game VC sales if released at a price similar to other SNES games, they've got to put work into it. Also helps make up for them finishing all their latest Kirby games right BEFORE the anniversary.

Also, we were never getting Air Ride here, that'd be too good a deal when they can release it on some WiiU Virtual Console for 30 dollars in a year or so. That and it'd break the "controls fine with just a Wii Remote" thing they have going.

Not at all. The reason is most likely that not a main game. Otherwise, you know they'd have Dream Course and Pinball in there.

I would not mind seeing Dream Course on there either. ;
Plus, air ride is the only title for the GC! :I

Another thing is, squeak squad is missing. (AKA: Mouse attack) Which is a bit surprising. I'm sure they would have no issue handling the copy palette since this is for the wii, after all. :I

Well, so is Amazing Mirror. (And Nightmare in Dream Land, but that would be silly.)

DS would be odd. Yes, the Wii could handle the touch thing, but you'd still have to deal with cramming two screens onto one screen the whole time. Plus, how would you play with just the Wii remote, if you also have to point at the screen to use it at all? It would be quite awkward.
