Picked up the Mega Man Zero Collection for DS again, continuing the Easy Scenario Mode from where I left off (early in MMZ2) and have since made it halfway through MMZ3.

But it really is awfully easy - I'm pretty bad at the regular Zero games, but this mode here is just way too easy for its own good. Guess it is nice for just going over the story again or something, tho.

Currently playing Majin Tensei II, the second turn-based strategy spinoff of Shin Megami Tensei. I think it's a lot more playable untranslated than the first one is, although I'm still completely missing out on the plot and talking to demons is total guesswork, but I'm still managing to do okay

SIDEWAYS SLASH

GUYS I FOUND THE TRIFOARS!

Anyway this is an "ascetic" run of Kirby's Adventure.

The basic rule is that gaining ANY points for any reason is death. This means:
- No killing enemies.
- No touching enemies (because you'll kill them as you are hurt)
- No breaking things.
- Pressing a switch means death.
- Participating in any bonus, both stage-end and minigame, and gaining a points price instead of 1up, means death.
- Anything else that would give points also kills you.
Exception when it is needed for progress. In that case, the rules must be broken the least as possible (ex: breaking only a few blocks and still trying to avoid the enemy). Bosses and minibosses don't count at all, but abilities must not be gained from them either.

On the other hand, anything that DOESN'T give points is fine. Such as:
- Lives, healing.
- Museum enemies. I thought this would be fun because it still gives me access to a few select abilities, so I can find creative ways past things.

Right now I'm at the end of world 5 because the last two switches there absolutely require to break the basic rules and didn't want to record a non-ascetic thing.
(I had a record of world 4 too, but it disappeared... eh, half of it consisted of getting angry at those panda bear enemies)

Which one?

I got hooked on the first one a year or so ago, but put it away after I decided my poor laptop wasn't cut out for PS2 emulation

Battlefield 3. A lot of it. I had a lot of fun tonight in 64-player TDM on Nosehair Noshahr Canals.

Turns out throwing slug rounds into a Remington 870 with extended mags and an ACOG is a complete beast in both close and medium range. And sometimes as a sniper rifle...

Sat down and played through Metroid Prime again. This time, 100% of items acquired and 98% of scans! First time I completed Prime

Now, on to Prime 2 and I can call the Trilogy complete, barring a few scans and the Hypermode difficulty. Just beat the Space Jump Guardian and now I'm on to collect Agon's planetary energy.

Girlfriend found her N64, so we've pooled our games together. Mostly been playing Ocarina of Time, with some Mario Golf and Mario Kart for multiplayer. I also have Star Wars Episode 1 Racer, which is harder than sin but still fun, and my old copy of Mischief Makers -- a game that very desperately needs a sequel.

Final Fantasy 5 Advance, for the Four Job Fiesta.

I'm playing on what was supposed to be Hard Mode for the challenge. Except, I got Blue Mage/White Mage/Knight/Mystic Knight, which is quite possibly the best team possible. So, not so hard actually.

Crabby: Racer's nowhere near as hard on PC with a decent stick. Control trouble seemed to be the main source of difficulty in the N64 one, having compared the two.

After a bit of practice, the cheat code to use two controllers is actually pretty awesome compared to just one.

In the original Metroid, I finally beat Kraid. Probably would have taken weeks without the VC Restore Point feature. But now I'm stumped as to how to get the Energy Tank in his room. It's right there! Why can't I just roll into it?

Also, I made some progress in the original Legend of Zelda. I was stuck for a bit in the third dungeon (second one I've found) as I didn't have any bombs, but then I discovered I didn't actually need them to kill the armored guys. They're very frustrating to kill, though, even against one. Anyway, I got the Raft, and made it to the boss... once. Every attempt after that, I keep being killed by the armored guys guarding the room before it.

Bit of advice on how to proceed, on the assumption you have not already done so.

"armored guys", ergo the Darknuts of this day and age, follow standard AI behavior for walking enemies. In which, on a creature-by-creature basis, they have a random chance per square to either turn in a random direction or, assuming you are in their line of sight, walk towards you, elsewise they just go straight when possible.
To define what this means for you, it means to approach them from a diagonal whenever possible. One square up and to the left, if you can. Recognize and realize that they cannot turn to face you until they fully step on a square, so if you stand on the side of their path you can stab their arm as they walk into your line of sight.

The boss: Manhandla. I won't go as in depth with this boss as I did the Darknuts, just know that it is vulnerable to bombs, and a very well-placed single bomb can one-shot the beast.

Level 2: Have you tried your local woodcutter's shop today?

To stay on topic with What Are You Play Ing: Spiral Knights. Loads of it. I still don't know why you guys can't give it another chance, the 'revival' topic hardly got anything in the way of replies...

SIDEWAYS SLASH

You can watch me beat this here. (Warning: I suck, computer bitches at me at the worst times, and you might want to watch the previous one before)

I actually streamed the whole game, but keep it mostly quiet. Unfortunately, the first three videos were deleted.
I'll stream the extra stage of hell, yes.

Also probably will stream the Poniko run after that because I'm upset that 3/5s of my playthrough has been lost.

Did my first 100% run of Super Metroid yesterday; done in 2:28.

Did it today, done in 1:57. 31 minute improvement? Fuck yeah.

My Super Metroid 100% Run in 1:20(Same event as Zero One)

I decided to finally update a lot of stuff on my computer so while I was waiting, I started playing through Advance Wars Duel Strike's campaign again. Made it through missions 1-19 last night(including optional) and just went from 20-23 tonight.

I was in the same boat on that. It didn't help that a friend overwrote my save file when I was on the last chapter!
