| Final Fantasy III on the DS.
I'm cheating, as usual, with one-hit kills, and I beat Nepto Dragon. He kills two of my party members. Thinking he's gone, I keep going, and Nepto Dragon's still there, because it's supposed to be impossible to beat
After the fact, I realised I hadn't saved for two hours. Owned.  |

| I got one that actually happened recently on Assassins Creed. I was on a vantage point, one of the higher ones in the area (which one specifically, I do not remember). I synchronize, but didn't notice there was a guard up there as well. He hops over the small wall to me (while the camera is spinning around the tower) and punches me, causing us both to fall to the ground.
I died, obviously. It was very high. Both of our bodies hit the ground at the same time. That sucked as it was, but what made it worse was that he got back up then walked away. =/ There was also the time I jumped towards a wall (from a rooftop), landed at the corner instead, and got stuck in the wall. Mere seconds later, I was falling into the infinite white space. Stuff like that has happened a few times in AC. It's a little annoying. |

JL2 - Post #1692 - 12-02-07 08:15:35pm Ugh, that reminds me of Death Mountain in Twilight Princess. You'd get almost to the top, then you'd fall off because A) rocks start falling just as you're about to jump and knock you off, B) the second-last jump lands you in a position where it's impossible to not get hit by the Goron, who knocks you into a corner, beats the shit out of you, then knocks you off, C) you get the angle slightly wrong on one of the last two jumps, having only seconds to align yourself, and get flung off, or D) all of the above.  Yeah, I didn't quite get killed, but man was that ever annoying.
There's been a few spots like that, actually *coughbossescough* but for the most part it's at least as good as OoT. | My favorites are ones where you make a wrong choice/simple mistake and then BAM, you're dead.
My favorite example of this is in Mother 3. You need to knock a giant metal ball off a statue and break through the floor. If you knock it from the wrong side... BAM, you're dead. Game over. Never saw it coming. |
