HYPE TIME

Mostly the reason for this thread is for things announced at E3 instead of having ten threads pop up for each new game announced. Those games can get threads later down the road when there are more solid release dates or more info than presented here. I just think it'd be easier to discuss the actual events and announcements direct from E3 in one thread.

So how 'bout that new WiiU Pro Controller/the Miiverse?
The video footage of NSMBMii (with the text bubbles showing up from previous players) reminds me of the system Demon's Souls had. Pretty sweet.
And the Pro Controller looks sexy as fuck, even if the right control stick placement is weird, though I suppose it's a major component of 90% of games as a camera control.

The Miiverse looks certainly interesting. I like the concept. Also, some of the NSMBMii video seemed to give away some information about the game. Unless it was put there on purpose to mislead us, it looks like the game is going to be drawing a lot from Super Mario World.


Can't wait for Nintendo's showing! Seems it will be entirely about the Wii U, as they said 3DS info was coming later on.

I'm really hoping for a real overworld map this time like in SMW, and not just 8+ small areas that are in no way connected. I was trying really hard to see if the path continued upward or if it just ended with a castle when they showed a part of the map in the video.

The Miiverse could potentially have been nice, except it's most likely going to be raided by /b/ and such, with "niggerfaggot" and drawings of penises being the only thing you'll be able to see on the screen =/

The pro controller looks really nice though. Hope it can be connected to the PC as well =D

To me, it's worse than it was last year.

Grade: F

Kinect, Kinect, and more Kinect, with a side of other gimmicks. Not even Halo 4 and South Park saves this from the conference being horseshit. Black Ops 2 was more interesting scripted moment-wise, but lack of multiplayer footage kills it. I sense a 2nd anniversary CoD XP for multiplayer reveal.

I was impressed by several things in Microsoft's presentation, but none of it was the games. I hate to say it, but the highlight for me was when he used voice commands in other languages.


Oh and that SmartGlass is totally not ripping off WiiU. Totally not.

Yeah, the multi-language kinect is really interesting from a programming perspective, since computers need to try hard to identify sound let alone languages.

Though half the show was multi-console games. Really microsoft? You might get them like, a week or a few days before other people, but they're not yours.

It says something when south park is the highlight of your games conference.
