I noticed driver for Ps1 is not in the wiki even though it has an unused map (Newcastle i think). Its only seen in the Credits but can be played by using a gameshark code. Its used in the PC version though.

Then.... add it? (This isn't even the first time you've been told that)

I've been finding quite a few discoveries in Super Mario Sunshine! Early level designs for Ricco Harbor and Sirena Beach(?) via pollution maps, a new unused goop texture, and unused animations for Bloopad.

Though, I could use some help. Could someone with experience in wikitables make a three-item comparison for the Ricco Harbor pollution maps? The gallery I have there is just a temporary solution.

I think I broke the wiki. :p

I uploaded some replacement images for Street Slam, and one of the files was uploaded incorrectly - right after it was uploaded I got a 500 Catastrophe.

"Street Slam (Neo-Geo) - JP Teams.png" refuses to show up in the Neo-Geo screenshots category for some reason. Maybe deleting and reuploading it might work? I dunno.

I've had this happen a couple of times. Simply press the edit button (or create a new page for the image) and the categorization, if it doesn't get added due to some strange issue.

I tried that, it didn't work.

Edit: Or maybe it didn't take. Weird. Thanks for fixing the file, sorry for the bother.

I've been told when i find something i should make a new page but:
1. i have no idea how to do that.
2. i won't be able to put anything in the article since i don't have a good enough computer to emulate most games.

If it weren't for these problems there would be more ps1 articles.

Also, The cheat system i use for the ps1 can view a snapshot of the screen you were last on and the textures loaded at that time, I was playing Die hard trilogy 2 and i'm sure i saw Button icons for an xbox controller (A and B to be exact) which would be good if true since the game was never released on Xbox.

1: Go to a random page, click on the address bar on your browser, replace the name of the game you're in for something else, then press Enter. Voila, a new page you can edit.

2: So? There's a lot of articles in the wiki that are nothing but plain text without images. As long as your explanation is good enough (and true!), someone will come along and expand upon it sooner or later.

As for the Xbox thing, are you sure they aren't Saturn buttons? The Xbox wasn't around during the PS1 era.

I've did some research and noticed that the first die hard trilogy was cancelled for the Nintendo 64 so the unused buttons are very likely from that controller. It would make sense to cancel the 2nd game if the first one was cancelled as well or they could be leftovers from the first game.

Well Die Hard Trilogy 1 was by Probe Software, and 2 was by n-Space. They have very little in common... I doubt they used the same codebase, but I dunno.

Now that bob (apparently) supports being screenless, would it be worthwhile to use them for prototypes with unused content?

If anything it would make it possible to categorize prototypes for the couple of games where the release version doesn't have an article (though in that case, a bob with a title screen could work also)

Just wondering - why are demo versions listed as prototypes on the wiki?

I happen to have a few early versions of Sierra games from an officially released demo disc and I'm not sure how to add any differences I find to the wiki.

Several demos are based on prototypes; Sometimes, they have content that isn't present in the final version (such as the unused maps in the Mario Kart DS kiosk demo-thing).

Simply add a Proto: (Insert game's name here) page for your demo content, and you're more or less set

Yeah, there's no reason to have separate "demo" and "proto" categories, because any demos that are worth documenting on the wiki ARE prototypes, in some form or another.

Demos are just prototypes that solicit customer feedback prior to release.

What's funny is that the demo I'm looking into actually says that it's an early version sent out to people so they can do tweaks before the game ships. Imagine that.

There's actually a huge list of differences on this particular game already, I just want to work on the stuff and double check stuff so I can document and verify everything rather than just swiping content from that site.

Edit: I forgot to mention the game - Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers. I'm combing through the demo's data files using a program called "SCI Resource Viewer". There's some neat stuff in here, I just need to double check that they're not in the retail version. The intro cutscene's somewhat different and the intro music is as well. Too bad it's in MIDI format... which sounds like crap on my sound card.

Edit edit: Main entry done. I stumbled upon more stuff while looking into the game but that's going on the backburner for now.

Hello all! I added my first article to the wiki today, beatmania IIDX 15, and I had some questions.

There are some rather large sprite sheets related to the unused screens from the location test of IIDX GOLD, I added a selection of these images, pertaining mainly to translated items for the test.. Other than the translated texts I already added to the article, everything else is more or less leftover original graphics from IIDX14(but still not used anywhere in DJ TROOPERS.) Would these be worth adding, or are they more or less fluff?

Okay, I guess it was the one question.

I'm kinda iffy on adding that stuff for games like this. When a series has that many entries, all based on the same code, naturally some assets are going to be carried over from previous versions once in a while.

The localized stuff you added, though, is perfectly fine.
