1014 pounds of supplies, including food, water, clothing, and computer hardware, have been transported to the International Space Station for the first time by a commercial spacecraft. The craft docked successfully at 16:02 UTC yesterday (25th). The cargo will be offloaded over the next few days after the craft is inspected to make sure that there's actually air inside the thing and opening the hatch won't have any negative consequences. Following that, Earth-bound cargo will be loaded onto the Dragon, it will be undocked, and sent back home.

Welcome to the future.

Pretty neat! Though it's slightly disappointing that the ship still looks like a giant missile, but it's progress!

It's nice to see some actual new spacecraft about. This way they can do more with the station, as the Dragon spacecraft appears to have more capabilities than most anything else they've sent up there (sans an actual space shuttle, of course.)

It's a little hard to make a single column of a ship look like anything other than a missile, I'd imagine. Unless you made it like a cartoon rocket. In which case it'd look really goofy dropping chunks as it took off.

But yay. Good times ahead.

Been following this since the very, very beginning.

I was worried about the aborted launch, but it was needed and I'm happy that we had an abort instead of something terrible happening.
