Earlier today I stuffed the end of a loaf of bread with half a pickle, a couple thin slices of ham, and some dijon mustard.

Was pretty good, albeit lazy.

Most recently I took advantage of being at a resort far from where I normally live to get something unusual; a pizza from a local place called New York Pizza Department, no cheese and with smoked ham, meatballs, salami, pineapple, and jalapenos. Most of it's now in the fridge waiting to be reheated and eaten over a couple more days. What I had, was quite nice, but... The jalapenos seemed weirdly mushy x:

You could have told me that was chicken or potatoes in a bowl of gravy and I would have believed you.

Klondike Mint Chip ice cream bar, bitches. Pretty good actually. Creamy mint ice cream inside which is good, although the thing was quickly disintegrating as I was trying to finish it.

Moose Track Ice Cream... I doubt I would have tried it, but I wasn't the one to make the choice. It's a blend of chocolate, vanilla, and nuts.

It actually tasted alright.

I'm just drinking some chocolate milk ... it's really late so I didn't feel like making something elaborate. Tomorrow's dinner: rice with pulled pork

Provençal1 Roast Chicken2 with Miso-Soy Sauce3 served with Sautéed Greens4 and a side of Brown Rice5. It was so fucking magical. I'm going to make miso-soy sauce for everything now because it's the best thing ever.

¹ Taken out of the refrigerator half an hour prior to roasting, the chicken is rolled around in a roasting pan lightly greased with olive oil and seasoned with smoked paprika, ground sage, ground thyme, dried marjoram, dried savory, fennel seeds, dried rosemary, dried basil, onion powder, ground cayenne pepper, ground white pepper and sea salt.

² The chicken is organic and vegetarian-fed. The meat is thigh meat and after being brought to room temperature and seasoned, it's placed skin side down in the roasting pan in an oven at 375°F for 20 minutes then flipped over and baked for another 10 minutes then broiled for 5 minutes to crisp the skin.

³ A sauce comprised of safflower oil, hondashi powder, water, tamari soy sauce, chickpea miso, sugar and ground ginger heated in a saucepan over low heat. The sauce came out a little thin and probably could have been thickened with some cornstarch or maybe even wasabi powder.

⁴ A blend of organic baby greens including chicory, mustard green, spinach, kale, chard and collards lightly sautéed in olive oil and rendered schmaltz (chicken fat).

⁵ Organic short-grain brown rice lightly salted and drizzled with the miso-soy sauce.

I am not the biggest fan of steak.

Tonight I had a steak that was fried-up (no BBQ or anything because we need a new one to begin with and have a grill that does just as good a job but ANYWAYS) and it was incredibly juicy and delicious and I couldn't believe I was enjoying a nice steak with pasta. So yes. +1 there.

This morning I made pineapple fried rice topped with a sunny side up egg and some mixed greens.

The fried rice was made by frying some pineapple chunks in coconut butter followed by an egg scrambled in the coconut butter followed by leftover short-grain brown rice. I added chives and drizzled in some low-sodium soy sauce and seasoned it with some ground white pepper and sea salt. For the egg, I did the usual with normal butter but seasoned it with ground star anise and dried tarragon. The mixed greens were lightly sautéed in butter and flavored with some dried minced onions.

It was a flavor profile I definitely wasn't used to but delicious all the same.

I just had some cereal, maybe some apple pie later.

This evening, though, I'm having Chinese food! A coworker is taking me out for dinner to a PF Chang's We'll see how that goes.

Ordered some food. I got a couple of slices of garlic bread and cheese, part of a portion of chips, and 2 mixed wraps, containing chicken, donner meat, chips and chilli sauce. Now, I have to debate whether to save the second for breakfast or pig out now...

PF Chang's turned out to be really great! Quite into the expensive side but the portions were reasonable, so no complaints!

I had dumplings and house fried rice.
