The latest CoroCoro has a lot of new details on Black 2 & White 2.

-Remember Cheren? He's a gym leader now.
-Thundurus, Tornadus, and Landorus all get new forms, called "Sacred Beast Forme". Tornadus looks like a crazy mustachioed bird.
-Pokémon Musicals have been replaced with PokéWood, which means making movies. This is what that screenshot of the agent guy battling Mecha Tyranitar on a space station was from.
-The Pokémon World Tournament will allow you to battle against trainers from all over the Pokémon world, including past game Gym Leaders such as Janine (GS) and Blaine (RB).

There's also word of Giovanni, Misty, Steven, and other characters showing up. They're really going all out for this one!

Actually, it seems to be a tournaument run by Cynthia involving every single past Gym Leader and Champion.

Yes, it'll be crazy and awesome. I do wonder if that also means a certain player character as a super-secret bonus boss too...


Also: Bianca is now Juniper's assistant and who gives you the starter pokémon. N and Alder also return for the plot.

I'm not sure about the BW PC showing up, because the game really went out of their way to make sure they HAVE the dragon that won't show up in the plot of this one...

Yeah, it plays there. I think it might play on other things like the highest online ranking, but I obviously can't check for myself...
My point was that if in a championship competion thing they referenced blue, in one similar thing that featured all the former characters might as well reference Red in the best way it could.

I never actually bothered to watch it since I hated it after a short while... but this video is pretty much how I'd want a Pokémon anime. It's kinda why I'd want a PokéSpe anime in the first place, except this is even better.

I don't know about the newer episodes, but the movies definitely have the same sort of feel to them. If I had to make recommendations, I'd say watch the Zoroark movie, Palkia vs. Dialga, and the Giratina movie. Also Deoxys. Oh and Lucario. Actually, they're all worth watching.

am I the only one who secretly hopes all gym leaders also include Justy from coliseum/XD? not because I particularly care about him, just that it would be a fucking awesome detail. Though, that wasn't an official league gym so he has about as much of a shot as say, Karate Dojo Master

If only! Game freak hasn't done anything with it since its introduction in Gen 3, that coupled with the lacklustre reception of the GCN spinoffs (which were all entirely double-battling) means that I doubt it'll ever get used.

A shame really, Double Battles were always more interesting to me than the bog-standard one on ones.

Game Freak has done FAR more with Double Battles than what it has done with Rotation and Triple ones.

I don't think those will even stay...


Also Double Battles are relatively used often. Just not in BW. Then again I wouldn't know because I play them all the time anyway.

I like both the 1v1 and the double battles - incidentally, the G/S remakes had a few extra ones - but yeah. They don't get used very often. I think part of that's the difficulty in balancing how much of each battle type is in the game, since 1v1 has been the standard from the beginning.

I wouldn't expect another Tate & Liza situation unless they made a full second set of gym leader battles to include double battles.

Like, they have potential... but they've done nothing with them and are just an entirely pointless thing that nobody even has figured how to make it work.

Triple battles though are kind of meh so yeah, I don't care about those.

The pokemon anime could be so much more if it actually had a cast you could relate too. Maybe it's just me, but I overall find ash to be a very lacklustre character.

Also, I second that about rotation battles. I have done a fair share of runs with the few that are ingame, and I honestly find this to be a great way to battle. The strategies for them and such are amazing, and I really hope they do more with them! On a related note, triple battles are just very tacky and very shitty from my experience. :I

I hope B&W2 will be good, I will most likely trade over something else to use as a starter though, I honestly don't want another one of those. Not the weakest starter line up, but I honestly prefer all other except the DPPt. ;
That animated clip looked amazing and it really psyches me up for the game though!

Now I just need to do all the extra stuff in B&W that I have still not got around to doing yet.
