...how do you figure it's the "same" when the only thing that is the same is the region that it takes place in, itself drastically revamped? This isn't like a third version where the storyline was changed slightly and a battle frontier stuck in. Also, pretty sure Gen 1 had FOUR games, yellow the only of which being drastically different and even then not by that much, and yet that's apparently the "best" gen to most people  |

| I'm definitely looking forward to B2&W2, though i'll be getting Black2. My fiancee on the other hand will be getting White 2. Personally I think the new protagonists look better than Hilda and Hilbert. But their rival just looks strange. :\ However I am disappointed that it's not being released on the 3DS, but it wouldn't be the first time they did this. :V And since this is the General Pokemon thread, i'll go ahead and say it my favorite generation is definitely Gen I, then Gen II, Gen III, GenV, and finally GenIV. (Personally GenIV wasn't that great because the framerate was so slow. x.X) |

Comparing generations can be a tricky thing. Every game added something, not just talking pokemon creatures, but I'm talking about features.
Daycare/Breeding/Berries for Gen 2 BattleTower/Contest for Gen 3 PokeTeck/PalPark for Gen 4 DreamWorld/Wifi features for Gen 5 Obviously Gen 1 started the craze and will always hold a more special place in my gaming heart since it sparked the Gotta Catch em All fever that has lasted for a decade+ But I sincerely cannot rank the gens that easily. From a pure "time played" standpoint Diamond dominates all other games since I spent so much time on it getting all previous Gens into it. Interestingly enough, for Black 75% of time spent playing was doing that arrow shooting mini game to get 6 older gen pokemon at a time. I've never cared for the story in any of the games, so that's a wash. ____________________ Visit Digital Space for my game news. |
