"Monster became X!" appears when a Yoshi Cookie is in and the enemy is transformed into an item.

I was just noticing that The Cutting Room Floor is really really slow, and pages fail to load about 2/3 of the time. What's going on with the server?

check here and see if anything is abnormal. Nothing out of the ordinary right now, though.

I don't know what your connection's problem is. I think you had this same issue before, where it worked for almost everybody except for one or two oddities.

Yep, that site also fails to load 2/3 of the time. But JUL loads fine.

What's really really weird is that the server is quite responsive to pinging.
edit: once in a while I get a few timeouts while doing continuous pinging. But nothing quite as bad as trying to load a page.

Added some NES Metroid tiles that I'm surprised weren't added already. Also, got at least three internal server errors while doing so.

I'd like to help out with the wiki but have no experience searching games properly and cant search 3d games (maybe a little on N64 and DS).
I may have something though, in Sonic Advance Battle you can use a code to play as eggman. His moves give the idea he might of been tested ingame:
A, on ground=Jumps Launches Missiles
A, in air=single missile
B, on ground= missile
B, in air= drop bomb
Strangely though R (special move) will make him say 'take this' but nothing will happen, maybe another move was planned. I'll Probably Listen for it in the sound test as well to see if it was used elsewhere.

I just found proof that Peach was originally going to have Perry (from Super Princess Peach) as her umbrella attack in Brawl.

Why not then, it doesn't seem like something that would be taken out/replaced due to time constraints.

I cannot believe I have never heard of tcrf before and I'm very interested in contributing, but I have a question before I do. Are pages marked with 'to do' on reserve for someone who is going to modify the page when they get a chance, or is it a call for other people to help out as well?

First off, welcome to the site!

As far as I'm aware, anyone is welcome to help out as far as To Do's are concerned. They're usually someone's way of saying "there's stuff to do but I haven't got around to it yet" or "there's research to be done".

You're always welcome to update any page, though if someone seems to have put a lot of work into a page, you should consider contacting them (possibly by IRC) to see if they have more information on how to access the todo item (or anything else worth investigating). But in general, feel free to contribute anywhere.

So uh, hi. I plan to add info on three games (two of which I've romhacked over the years) and add screenshots from a few of my PS2 and PC games, but I have little experience with Wikis. Is there any way to have a personal sandbox of some sort I can futz around with without disrupting the recent changes? I don't want to clutter the page up.

Typical sandbox usage on wikis is to create a sub-page of your user page, but I'd run it through with the admins first to see how they feel about it...

So for me, if I had a user page, it would be at this address:

http://tcrf.net/User:GuyPerfect

And the sandbox, therefore, would be at this address:

We don't have any rules against personal sandboxes, so knock yourself out.

Also hi!

Sup dude.

I have a bunch of stuff from Yume Penguin Monogatari (NES) and Sengoku Densyo (SNES) to add. I mentioned the former at RHDN years ago, it's a bit of unused script; the latter appears to be unused text of some sort, but I'm not certain I have the table set up right. It looks like proper Japanese to me, but I don't know much of anything other than some words and phrases.

Also, a couple of questions. One of my PS2 games (Bad Boys Miami Takedown) has a debug mode that can only be accessed via Action Replay / Gameshark codes. That's good content for the wiki, right? Also, do removed or added voices count for "regional differences"? Some of SNK's PS2 compilations have had voice snippets removed in their US version, plus the Korean versions of some NeoGeo games had Japanese voiceovers completely removed. And other NeoGeo games had different character names or voice samples used depending on the region they were played in. (Why did they change Marco Rodriguez to Khushnood Butt...?!)

So uh, yeah.

So uh, another question.

Does the wiki have its own Youtube account for uploading videos by the contributors? It might be better if it had one so stuff could be preserved somewhere without being exposed to random account deletions.

Edit: And just to edit the post instead of making a new one... Some of the games I'm looking into adding to the Wiki are SNK's PS2 compilations. Some of the games have removed voice data in the US version of the pack - would this count as "Games with unused sound"?

I have a -lot- of ground to cover on these packs. Wish me luck. :p

Not yet. So far, the videos are spread throughout several accounts. I might start up an account for archiving TCRF videos, but I'm not sure if the admins would approve of that.
