The guy killed 77 people and wanted to kill more, openly admitting such with no regret. It's not a case where you can just give an arbitrary number (and certainly not such a tiny one) and see if he gets better.

I mean, 21 years is like getting just a bit over a month for each murder, he'd be getting out on his 50's with plenty of his life ahead after having murdered seventy-seven people. And being so remorseless, he will hardly change his mind about it, just be able to fake so.

Well what are you going to do then? ... Kill him? Death penalty is a no no as expressed by pretty much everyone.

Ideally, his prisonmates will deal with that for us. People like him don't last long in big jails with lots of other nasty people.

I always think there should be fight-for-your-freedom gladiator fights between the inmates of maximum security prisons to lower the number of murderers/rapists/whatnot and to potentially exploit the naughty folks who win.

Jail times are so stupidly disproportionate to the actions of criminals. No, we can't lock him up for 77 lifetimes, but at least lock him up for his lifetime. And I don't mean contingent on him still being a threat; I mean lock him up with no possible chance of getting out. Anybody who murders one person deserves this, never mind the murder of 77 people.
