Some of the suggestions here sound very radical for the subject matter.

A simpler suggestion, if the worries really are over accidental "what the hell is that" moments, the NSWF images can always be linked to, rather than have its image displayed. In this way all responsibility is left in the user's hand, because they are the ones deliberately clicking the one available link to get there (withstanding the one moment it's uploaded and is in the most-recent list).

Really though, I don't even think it's anything worth worrying over, until a considerable amount of content is added to the wiki of this kind. Which, I don't think there ever will be.

I think the current solution on the Splatterhouse page of making it clear on the subpage description is the best option so far.

Yea I saw that, please put an warning on it.
I already find some stuff like that, some games they use the outfit as separated files.. But I don't see why to post.

Because its unused, and rather blatantly. This is also different from that example since the image used is a completely different file entirely.

I thought about this heavily before posting it and the warning should be enough. We have enough profanity flying around the wiki in cut dialogue that if they can't handle some bare nipples they're probably on the wrong site.

NSFW text isn't a big deal because unless you're right up close, it just looks like text, and audio isn't a big deal because you have to manually activate it, but images are right there for everyone to see. (Even if you just scroll past them or hit back right away, a particularly zealous corporate filter might go just over them being in your cache and/or passing through the firewall...

This is my idea:

http://tcrf.net/Game_With_Porn_Like_Images

On that page you would find something like this:

This article contains material not safe for work.

To see the full content for Game With Porn Like Images, please follow this link:

Game With Porn Like Images (NSFW)

Which would link to: http://tcrf.net/Game_With_Porn_Like_Images_(NSFW). So not only would the main game page be clear, but any links to the content will have (NSFW) in the link.

Useful if someone directly links to the content: http://tcrf.net/Game_With_Porn_Like_Images_(NSFW)#Unused_Textures

I believe that this is a fair way for the article writers and people who may link to our website. I know many paces will put a blanket ban on a webpage if the site can have surprise NSFW content.

(E Xkeeper: You forgot a foreground color in that box.)

EDIT: I can agree with the above.

EDIT2: Wait, are you suggesting we move all such images to that sub-page? That's kind of vague.

I don't see why everybody is acting that having a warning is something worthy of a in the first place.

I browse TCRF from work. I often use "Random Page" (or a series or something) to navigate, which results in me seeing the top of a page. With a NSFW banner, I know I should look at a different article (or just be careful ). Anything else gets in the way -- if you know and expect it, having to click thumbnails or other things just causes stress and puts more stress on the server having to serve up more pages.

I'm still not seeing how this is a "tragic turn" for TCRF. That has to make the least sense out of all the arguments.

So then someone links to a page with NSFW content and bypasses all of the warnings and other stuff. The intermediate page is rendered useless.

See also this. The page before this has a small NSFW warning in the subpage template. Did you see it with this link? No.

That was just me fretting over the potential misuse of the category/tag, and discrimination against topics revolving around NSFW things.

However, after further speculation and responses from others, I feel pretty safe in trusting that neither of the aforementioned will happen.

That is beautiful, although I may have altered the alt-text in an inappropriate way. Also, can we have a :holyshit: macro? >> Please?

I did mean that it would also display the warning on the seb-page as well. Now that I'm waking up from a nap though, I sorta see the sub-page as redundant. I still like the idea of having /gamename/nsfw in the link as a warning, but thinking about it now, no one really looks at that anyway.

again, guys, Javascript hover-over thing...sure it would make people browsing on mobile have a hard time (...heh) but if you are browsing mobile chances are you can be more discrete, anyway. This is an extremely easy solution that is not invasive or complicated and is not circumvented by directly linking to a page and yadda yadda. Do we need to overcomplicate things or can we just settle on something simple that would actually do everything we need while addressing the concerns we have with all other proposed solutions?

I browse with Javascript disabled. Boom, I can't view our content. (this goes for anybody using noscript too.)

It also ruins mobile (how can you hover over it?) and some other stuff, not to mention actually adding the relevant code to the pages and making it work for the wiki's image code too.

You say not to overcomplicate things and then complicate them.

Perhaps that should be changed to "Games with Nudity?" Sounds more respectable to me. Or, in the off chance of non-nude NSFW imagery coming up*, a more umbrella term could be used - perhaps "Games with Mature Imagery"?

* no idea how, but why not be prepared

Edit: Also, wouldn't it be relatively easy to just move all questionable content to the bottom of the relevant page, along with an appropriate heading? I'm aware that for games with limited TCRF content, this would be a bit trickier, but it seems a simple partial solution to impliment, no extra javascript needed.

"Game with porn like content" was a name for a fake game. You could replace it with something like "Mushroom Peaks" or "Cream Party". Same idea.

I wouldn't call it porn. Call it something else. Porn is sex.
