Wait, there were AIM chatrooms that people could actually talk in? I went to a few, and all there ever was was 50+ bots spewing several lines of giant, obscenely-coloured text and broken HTML every second. It looked like something you might see scrolling down the screen of an old broken computer, except instead of ASCII gibberish, it was random words, HTML tags, and ads.

Also I like to respond to "ASL" with total nonsense, like -1/R/Everywhere, don't know/beats me/good question, or animé references like no idea/not sure/trapped in The World.

What baffles me is how someone/company would think that advertising in an AIM CHATROOM that no one ever goes in to will help. ____________________
