In my last semester, I took a beginner 3D modeling class, which taught me a good workflow for making models properly instead of intersecting a bunch of primitives together. As such, I took it onto myself to make this over the course of the semester. Fully UV'd with Brawl-style textures, and full rigging. I admit the cape and other dangling cloth parts aren't rigged very well, as I'm still learning rigging, and I have yet to give the model IK.

As a bit of an update on my Yaridovich model, I finally completed it. I added more polygons to parts of his face, reworked the eyes, and properly rigged everything, including the cape. As mentioned in my other post, I also made alternate palettes for him and an animation to test out his IK, which also helped me fix flaws in his rigging.


For anyone who wants to play with it, it's available on the Models Resource in DAE format. Sorry, no IK included.

Oops, looks like I forgot to post this here! After I competed Yaridovich, I set out to make the Axem Rangers. Overall, I'm much more satisfied with how they came out compared to Yaridovich.

As with Yarid, they are available on TMR in DAE format, and with four alternate palettes. You can also buy trophy versions of them on Shapeways! They look pretty neat, and only cost $20 each!

Also, here's a short video of my next project. This is just step 1.
