I was thinking about the cinematography of Park Chan-wook's most prominent international success, the revenge thriller-drama film Oldboy and how during fight scenes the camera movement is not only shakycam-free but unusually smooth yet now it's "cool" to have your camera flail everywhere when a fight's happening. Okay, Kubrick might have used this technique in 1975 in his film Barry Lyndon but he did it right. The modern obsession with shaky handheld photography is past its prime. Thanks for nothing, Bourne series.
