Yesterday a friend and I went to Urban Renewals, a gigantic color-sorted thrift store in Allston where I found this oversized grey knitted cardigan for just $3 plus some blue low-cut Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars for $6 that were exactly my size. I cannot get over what a great find this was. The shoes were all nice and comfortable with that wonderful worn-in look. My friend found a picture frame, perfect for his Japanese boyfriend's calligraphy for like $1.
We also found an IBM Thinkpad T21 with working battery and charger, $15. The laptop was in great condition but some loser put a hard drive password before donating it to the thrift store, I guess. We're going to try to swap in a new hard drive and then sell the laptop refurbished on the Internet.
Oh, and there was a wonderful iMac G4 on sale there but it was $260. Thrift store price, yeah right.
