We weren't even testing for that.

Hah! I wouldn't have thought this was possible, but I did manage to get this ancient, buggy operating system from 1993 to the Internet. Really, you could count all drivers that exist for NT 3.1 on your two hands if you wanted / and this is the x86 version I'm talking about, MIPS and Alpha are even worse off.

Anyway, I'm using Netscape 3, which works fine in the emulation, but is... ugh. Just too many JavaScript errors!

Now if only you had posted this via Dial-Up, too. Then it would be complete.

The installation was a horror, because:

* There's a bug which makes it unable to be installed on Pentium II or better processors, amusing since it already requires a 486 to start with
* It has a 64 MB memory limit
* It comes in 22 floppies. Oh. My. God. The constant floppy switching was annoying as hell.

It took me more than a day to make it installable. At the very least it was pretty easy once the thing's there.

Hmm... I dunno what I could do with it, since there aren't really any applications for NT 3.1

Bonus points if you put Bonzi Buddy on it.

Yeah, but imagine how lightning fast 3.1 is with 64 MB of RAM.

18 years ago, you'd be drooling.

Good that you ask, I was wondering this myself.

Apparently, it's still in NT4. I don't have Windows 2000 at hand but they probably removed it from that one.

I think it's the same ol' qbasic from MS-DOS days, seeing as it runs inside the 16-bit emulation.

Now try updating to Windows NT 3.51.

Live the insanity of nearly modern Windows NT with Windows 3.1 Shell!

Oh my God. I remember back in grade school (Kindergarden) that there was a game called Busytown that you can play using that OS.

That game was the shit. Find that, and load it on there. Nostalgia sakes!

E- OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!

I remember having a Busytown game, but it wasn't that one. I spent hours paving a road wrong just to watch some guy try to drive on it...

I saw Busytown, but I was far more obsessed with the Carmen Sandiego one. And Civilization I.
