"Clocks" - Coldplay

Been more in the mood for more somber stuff lately.

Currently on my soundtrack station on Pandora. Currently playing:

The Dark Knight Film Score

I really wish they would give the actual name of the track rather than just "Film Score". But it's Hans Zimmer, James Howard. Can't go wrong with those two. They make some great movie music.

Last.fm's suggestions feature is good. Pretty much pure rock, metal, and hip-hop = my ideal station. (Yes I know that's a bit of a weird mixture shut up)

Right now: Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Beast.

I've been trying to find Iron Maiden albums at flea markets and cheap sections in my local CD store but no luck.

How's that weird? Like, at all? I knew people who were into fruity chiptune-influenced j-pop and doom metal. I'm sure I could find weirder examples if I looked harder.

I'm um... not listening to anything because I've actually been trying (mostly unsuccessfully) to write my own music.

I dunno, they just usually seem mutually exclusive to me.

Playing Rush - Roll The Bones right now. Some people seem to dislike this song, others love it. I fall into the latter camp. (One of my favorite songs overall, even.)

EDIT:I forgot to read the opening post...

Sympathy for the Devil / Born This Way medley from The Sing Off. I really enjoy this mix and I don't like the original version of these two songs.

Using Pandora today, soundtrack channel as usual.

Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strike Back Score

It doesn't say the name of the track but its the main Imperial March song.

Guns N' Roses - I.R.S.

I could only find a live one. Great song (and album), though... I think people get a bit too focused on the fact that only one original band member is still there, although other bands have that "problem" too (Filter comes right to mind)...

I'm listening to Bon Iver's self-titled, although a bit grudgingly now that it's been Grammy-nominated and apparently Rosie O'Donnell-approved. First M83 sells out to Victoria's Secret and now this.

I guess alt tastes are nomadic for a reason.

Frankly I'd be more concerned about the Rosie O'Donnell bit than the Grammy bit...although it could be worse, it could be Oprah or something.

I've been listening to the Bastion soundtrack since my brother gave it to me over the weekend. My favorite tracks are Terminal March and the songs, especially the credits theme.

It's a pretty good song I think. Catchy for me.

Boards of Canada - Open the Light

I'm just starting to listen to BoC music after quite some time not listening to them. Shame they haven't released a new album in a while.

I didn't find much that I liked in /r/Metal. Just some bands/songs I already like (Black Sabbath, Dio, Dream Theater, Pantera... sadly no Queensryche). Except... for one.

Symphony X - Revelation (Divus Pennae Ex Tragoedia)

I find it hard to find progressive metal that isn't growly/screamy. I'm sorry, but I just... can't listen to that, even if the rest of the band is the best group of performers to ever blow minds in the name of rock. I intentionally skipped Dream Theater's opening act a couple months back (Trivium) because of that.

And, speaking of Dio...

DNA-Groove - Human Clockwork

It's rather soothing electronic music, in my opinion, and I like it.
