The dungeons were basically redesigned from scratch, but using the same style/gimmicks/objectives/whatever.

My mother gave up at that point in Wario Land 3 and 4, though...

They can be.
In OoT3D, though, I actually tended to find the bosses relatively easy once I figured out the pattern. (Which didn't take very long, in some cases...)

Especially 4, it's one of my all time favorite games. 
The only game that I can remember getting to the end (or at least very close to it) and then end up not beating it is Twilight Princess. Overall I found that game to not be very enjoyable.

I've never gotten very far in 4, but I nearly 100%ed 3. (On stream, too.)
Fun game. I'm tempted to try to do it again...

| Wario Land is actually one of my favorite series in general, and I think it's the only series that I can say I have gotten 100% in every singe game (1-4, VB, and Shake It) to the point where there is absolutely nothing left to do (all treasures in 1, all panels and treasure in 2, all treasures, all music coins, and all time trials completed in 3, very hard mode completed with all items and gold crowns in 4, all treasures found in VB, and all treasures found and missions completed in Shake It).

| Yep Virtual Boy Wario Land, I think it's worth getting the system just for that one game.
I didn't get mine until about 6 years ago although my parents used to take me to Toysrus all of the time to play it when they had a display set up (they also took me to play the N64 too when it was still new).
