I would love to just get Microsoft Points so then I can get what I want for XBL and Zune. And as far as games go, I pretty much got the ones that I wanted that were released this season.

I pretty much have to explain, at least to some extent, some of the stuff I'm into to my family because I'm the only one in the family with any clue as to what I'm talking about when it comes to this stuff. If I didn't, I'd be buying all the geeky things myself and put myself right into debt.

I want a Playstation 3 this Christmas so bad. Along with a PS3 version of Elder Scrolls V: Skryim! Also, I want a new phone, because my current one is pretty much shitty, haha.
Even if I don't get any of those, it's still awesome because it's Christmas.

This. Reminds me that I still need to finish my list and email people about it.

Not to mention make everybody's cards.

Same here. I really can't ask my in-laws for anything anime or video game related.

Oh, video games were always easy for me. I'd just describe the box art if need be.

Anime, though... Whole other kettle of fish.

Remind me never to ask for anime for Christmas ever again.

I have never really asked for specific things for Christmas/birthday, except for this year.
I mentioned in passing that I'd kinda like a keyboard (of the musical variety ) for my birthday, and I get to go shopping for one next week! Which means eventually I might be able to share some of my playing with you guys.

Asking for video games when I was younger was easy.

Most of the time I didn't have to ask, my dad would just get me the system/game.

Those were the days.

As you get older, Christmas and birthday gifts become more and more expensive. Although there's usually a movie or 2 that I don't buy for myself specifically so someone can buy it for me for an occasion such as these. This year is the Star Wars collection on Bluray and Lord of the Rings Special Edition Bluray.

My girlfriend wanted a game called Rummikub for Christmas... we used to play this years ago (basically, it was a rummy game that used tiles instead of playing cards)

I'm definitely going to have to check the board game store in the mall for it tomorrow

Actually, it kind of got cheaper for me...

Hell, like I told my mother, I'd be happy with just a few CDs this year. Fortunately, the local place tends to have a lot of good stuff for $1.99. (If you want a list of all the good stuff, I could actually list them all out...)

Finally set my mom right on what I want, will discuss with her what I should e-mail my sister on what I want on the list. I want that USB device that hooks up to a TV or VCR, because I want to archive the taped junk I still have, then see if I can get the VHS tapes blanked out and sold somehow.

Because I am dead certain someone out there really likes making films with VHS tapes.

Yeah, my birthday presents have been getting cheaper, too. I remember when it used to be several games and maybe a console or something, but now it's a few DVDs at best and maybe some money to spend at an independent record store.

I actually only got two things from my parents for my 18th birthday this year, but since one of them was a smartphone, I'm not exactly miffed about it.

(The other one, for the record, was a cute purple-and-blue plaid hat. My mom just wanted me to be able to have a surprise on my birthday too, since we'd all known about the phone for months.)

For Christmas...I'm 99.9% sure I'm getting a 3DS, because my mom explicitly told me my dad was getting one and mentioned that she knew I wanted the same thing, so I highly doubt she didn't get me one too. I'll also probably get a game or two for it, plus some shirts and CDs and the like. Maybe a few assorted knick-knacks.

Honestly, Christmas and my birthday are the only days of the year where my parents spoil me.

Plan for tomorrow: Go to school and do the shit I want to do. Stop at the mall on the way home. Buy rest of gifts, go home, profit.

My grandmother let me take a little tiny artificial tree with lights already on it into my room.

It's plugged in now and it actually makes my room feel very quaint. It's rather relaxing this way.

I have a tree in my room too. A tiny one, probably around the same height.

It's a nice touch to my odd looking room.

Never had a proper X-Mas tree until this year. Its in a closed room so the cats and puppy don't get at it. I still need to finish it.

I need to get a tree but I've been so busy with party-planning for my birthday instead that the whole Christmas thing has been totally sidelined.

I haven't thought about Christmas at all this year.

We've always gotten a tree in my family, at least during my lifetime. A real one, so our living room always smells like fresh Douglas fir around this time of year.

I can't wait till I get home and can see what my parents picked out and help decorate it!

We also have a tradition of each of us (me, my mom, and my dad) getting a surprise new ornament every year. I can't wait to see what mine is this year--my mom's assured me that I will love it, and I honestly trust my parents' judgment on that kind of thing (they've always paid close attention to my interests).

I think my favorite ornament is still the Charmander I got when I was, like, 7, though. (That, or the little Ganesha ornament I got at the Asian Art Museum a few years back, just because it's hilarious to have a Hindu god on a Christmas tree. XD)
