The only thing that I've noticed different there is the home page and some colour/image changes. So most of this is skipped just by using the search bar or clicking on your name in the top right. Nothing has really changed; the only true addition is that new sidebar.

And to be honest, it looks pretty handy. I like it.

EDIT: I also really, really like this image in these circumstances, though I'm sure that it won't apply this time around. The changes work.

From the screencap it doesn't look too bad to me, but I rarely use the Youtube homepage. Hasn't rolled out for me yet anyways.
Now the Google search changes are gonna take some getting used to, that black top bar they introduced a while back? Got rid of it, everything's on the left side now.

Really, the only thing that bugs me about the new layout is simply that it no longer groups your subscriptions by uploader and instead has them purely chronologically.

Got a test run with the new channel design going, it's certainly... different.

It's easier for your channel to be a blog or whatever.... but it's actually a lot harder to find videos and even though you have several design options to pick from, they are all mostly the same and not a single one is like the old one or very different from the others.

Hopefully they will get some feedback and finetune/give more options. I'm going back to the old channel system in the meantime. The front page, on the other hand, seem to be quite good other then a few nitpicks I have, such as, why is there a facebook and g+ link up button when I use neither?

...At least the new site URL icon looks nice. Having a 16x16 saying Youtube in really tiny letters = wut.

I'll have to poke around this some more when I get home. So far I'm kinda bamboozled, but it's possible that there may be more positives than negatives in some way.

The new icon is nice, but it will take some getting used to... (though I said that about the Google icon change and got used to that pretty quickly)

I'm impressed that they made a major change to the video playback page, and yet it doesn't break the Youtube Auto Replay add-on. Overall, I don't know, I don't heavily (or at all, really) use the YouTube main page so I don't worry about that, but for me this is one of the better recent Google re-designs. (as opposed to say, the atrocity that is the new Google Reader)

The only thing irritating about this update is that they still haven't made every video viewable with the HTML5 player.

I like it a lot \o/
It showed up for a day last week to me and I was all "booyah!"

Also, the sidebar lets you select a single subscription to view chronology of. Overall it looks sleeker. Plus I like that it's removed the stupid, in the way "top videos right now" thing that always had things that I thought were stupid.

Well uh, that's what it used to be before.

Funny, first people complain that the videos are grouped by uploader instead of being chronological, now they complain about the videos being in chronological order instead of grouped by uploader.

I haven't used the new front page but I do like the new video page and channel page. The new channel page is a lot lighter, and doesn't force you to watch videos in the small player anymore.

Well the design, to it's credit does a great job at maximising space while keeping up a slick appearance. The only thing I hope they change is the new channel design (as it seems you can't embed videos on them), but personally this feels more like an upgrade more than anything else.

I for one welcome the return of this!

I still have yet to find a good way to brows videos by users in the new channel interface. I suppose it could be that I'm missing something, but the only thing I have an easy time browsing is playlist, you know, that function mostly let's players used to group videos.

Weirdly, I had this layout while browsing on opera at a college computer a few weeks ago, but not any other browser on that machine. I was talking with a friend and they mentioned they'd had it for a few days. And now I see it on my home computer and apparently everyone has it. Wacky~

I don't like it.

I used to be able to remove videos from my feed that I wasn't gonna watch or had already watched or whatever.

This function is gone, and it was frankly important to me.

honestly this is all i need to use youtube

sometimes i'll go through a channel's page too, but it actually looks far easier now that i don't have to deal with a constantly buffering video while scrolling through the tiny-ass uploads list

Didn't fiddle around the new design too much yet, but the "recommended videos" on the right pane now bugs me slightly, as it's very close to your subscriptions on the page, or whatever in the middle currently is. Also there's still no widescreen support or way to customize the page to use the room in a more fitting way. A lot of space is not used.

I don't like how you apparently cannot remove any subscribed videos by mouse-over over them, clicking the appearing little cross button, or being not able to keep videos you aleady watched in your sub list (like, you watched it partially and want to continue or watch it again later). At least you can pin up to ten channels and customize these on your start page. Something I missed before, so my most frequent visited channels go to the top. Nice.
The new design itself is not that bad, and as I don't care about Facebook, the new social features don't impress me too much. If everything fails, I'll be looking for certain Greasemonkey scripts soon to rearrange the appearance on my computer.
