We haven't had a "Hey it's a new month" thread in a while.

So here one is. 2011 is almost over and I'm kinda happy.

Any plans for later on in the month, perhaps? All I'll really be doing is visiting an aunt in New Jersey on Christmas... nothing too exciting planned for this month.

Also things are due in a couple weeks. Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow.

No plans so far, but I imagine some family will be doing something. I'm already invited to at least 1 thing.

I turn 22 on the 22nd this month. Other than that my plans for this month include moving and insuring my car.

I will probably be going home on the 9th… 3½ weeks off? YES PLEASE!

Not sure what the family plans are though, unfortunately.

And I still think it's 2010...

I believe I'm going home on the 15th, so I won't be too busy after that hopefully...

My birthday, Christmas, graduation, the New Year's Eve... where has the year gone?

And with appropriate timing, it was suddenly very cold this morning.

I keep wondering where the rest of the year went. Kind of a boring routine year (for the most part) with nothing devastatingly bad or terribly awesome happening; a few things happened that seemed worse at the time of their occurrence but are in the past now. Wish I still had my old job though.

(also happy birthday hydrapheetz)

It'll be a busy month, for the most part. Christmas parties, one at home, 2 birthdays, one on Christmas eve, and then Christmas itself. My oldest son will be 3 and he's old enough to appreciate presents.

We got our tree this past weekend and will be decorating it this weekend. Its officially 9'10" tall, pretty big and full all the way down. We also got a small tree that my kids decorated already, they had fun doing that.

This year went by fast.

As for me, the last day of tutoring is the 14th, so I'll be off work for about half of the month I love working in education. So much time off

Finish off most (if not all) of my grad school shit and wait for 2012 to come at home. =/

Oh yeah, there's Christmas, but that pretty much happens here. I'm not expecting anything major to happen really. It's my hometown after all, it's not like anything profound happens here. Or people come visit.

I turn 19 on the 9th. Woo! Legal drinking age, so that should be an interesting uninteresting night, because I've got a final the next morning.

But after that home for three weeks!

Hard to believe it's the end of the year already.

As for me, well I have no plans, so let's see what happens.

Fuck December. I will probably be working for most.of my two weeks off from school. Also it's dark as <blasphemous location> and cold as <profane simile involving the breasts of female users of black magic>.

At the very least, maybe I'll be able to get some writing done now that I've had Stigandr say that my novel's plot isn't utter shit.

...But that's one of the best parts of December!

Besides, January feels even colder...

I turn 23, visit my Mom and Dad, have a birthday/Christmas/Thanksgivingageddon (skipped Thanksgiving and moved it to Christmas due to distance issues) and school ends for a bit all at once.

It's a crazy fun-packed month of insanity.

This is the favorite time of the year for me, you don't even know.

Well, the first several week sare just whatever, but once the Christmas tree goes up I'm ecstatic and I just have so much fun and joy in my heart that it makes living through another year completely worth it.

Hell, even if all I got for Christmas is food, that would be awesome with me. Best part? I can share said food with everyone, to spread the cheer.

And the tradtions. Dear lord, the traditions. My dad's family is Polish, so they celebrate sort of a modernized wigilia, we always get wafer cookies and go around giving each other pieces of ours to each other and say "Merry Christmas" (or, with several jokesters in my family, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, etc.). And then there's always someone who is honored to dress in a Santa suit and give out presents to the entire family in a gift exchange. A few years ago it was my brother-in-law who got the honor. I hope he can do it again one of these years, since he has the perfect rosy cheeks to do it. It's a loud and crazy night, but it's one of the best nights of the year.

On Christmas morning, the family opens up presents as usual. My sister makes it a point to drop by, and I hope Wally and Kyle come by too, since it makes it more of a complete setting.

Mom's family is way more subdued (due to there being about 12-15 people versus 50-60). Hand out Christmas presents, eat dinner, just have a nice quiet day with family, and we go home.

tl;dr Christmas week is the best week, and there's almost nothing to ruin said week.
