Yeah, my dad hacks up a lung with all the smoking he's done. He's smoked for...like, well before I was born.
Wow, how did we get from Love Calendar to cigarettes? Was there like...some kind of message board sex?

For my mother... it was 40ish years, I guess, with a couple attempts to stop but she ended up picking it back up again.
I guess this is why I'm heavily biased against smokers.
Also it started with me entirely misinterpreting MM88's post

I could never stand the smell of cigarette smoke.
It also never helped that every time I'd go back home, people would get irritated about how I smell like cigarette smoke. Well duh, what did you expect? My dad's a smoker. I'm not gonna come home smelling like fresh cut flowers.

I actually have to hold my breath around smokers - I just can't stand it at all.
Might look dumb with my shirt over my nose, but the alternative's worse.
