This game is coming out quite soon, and I'm surprised we don't have a topic about it already. Here goes.

First of all, the public demo of the game leaked today, and like any enthusiastic young lad with the ability to play iso files, I went for it. Beware, my following impressions have very slight ability/item/enemy spoilers.. That should be mostly known if you've watched any trailers.

It's a timed demo with three sections. I've only played the Temple demo.

Let me just say this: The 10 minutes I just had lead me to believe this game is going to be far superior to Twilight Princess. I really doubt I'll be eating my words in two weeks, too.

The big thing about this game that most people notice immediately are the controls. This game uses the MotionPlus, and I can actually see why. The improvement to combat that the attachment brings is immense. The whole "slash vertically instead of horizontally" gimmick is actually very charming, and it was fun to see old enemies re-imagined with this in mind.

The only two items I've used so far are the Beetle and the Bow, and both work fairly well. It seems you can either draw the bow with a button or the Nunchuck attachment, I defaulted to pressing B. Works well. The Beetle is steered by the Wiimote, and the added involvement on your part for actually using the item is enjoyable. The beetle is a tad slow and steers a bit on the gentle side, but oh well.

I barely made a dent in the dungeon, but the layout felt nice. The graphical choice was something I was iffy on until actually getting my hands on it. I can see why they chose the style, as it allows things to really leap out at you without having to distractingly draw attention to it. Enemies are the primary benefactors of this choice.

The most difficult fight I got into in the demo was a spider, who had to be flipped upside down with an upward strike. I didn't even realize that was a possibility at first, and it felt good to conquer even a basic enemy with the new controls. During this fight I also figured out the one thing I'd been wanting to do - A spin attack! It didn't help at all against this particular enemy, but shaking both the Nunchuck and the Wiimote simultaneously to pull the move off actually seemed to make sense.

The coolest move would definitely be the energy blast though. Holding your sword/Wiimote up in the air and charging it up with energy, followed up by slamming the controller down with a big energy blast was amazing the first time I did it. Even including the Fierce Deity attacks in Majora's Mask, it's been far too long since Link has had this power. Feels good, man.

I can't wait to get my hands on the full release. This game feels like the real deal, folks. No more uncreative Twilight Princess, or snoringly simple Wind Waker... I hope.
