Oh, there's an actual demo?

I should go grab that. I read some interviews earlier that actually had me hope that SS was more interesting than that bland monotony that was TP.

I didn't mind the waggle, the world was just...lifeless and dead.

Are there non-motion control options for everything as well? Space in the vicinity of my TV is... limited.

Eeeergh. Not happy.

Oh well.

Is MotionPlus required? If it is, that's something else I'm gonna have to buy.

[am I seriously the only person that's gone out of his way to avoid motion controls on the Wii? Counterproductive I suppose, but...]

MotionPlus is absolutely necessary, but I'm with you on this. I completely avoided MotionPlus because I thought it was just a waste of money. Then I saw Skyward Sword, grabbed the pre-order bundle and I definitely do not regret it. MotionPlus is going to bring a whole new epic dimension to Zelda. And considering that the game is the highest rated Zelda game since Ocarina of Time (OoT also being considered the best game by MANY people), it's going to be totally worth it.

Yeah, I spent my 10 minutes with the demo, barely got anywhere. We'll see if I can get Ocarina cheats working with my USB loader, there's one to disable the timer.

But from what I played with, it is so much better than TP. To be honest, it felt brand new, not the same old formula we've had since OoT. (Case in point, first 3D zelda game without A to Roll. )

Apparently tons of info has been gleaned from the demo as well, including massive story spoilers, and details on the hard mode/New Game +. At least part of the feature is the removal of hearts from the game, so you have to solely rely on potions and faeries to heal yourself.

I can't wait for this game. The new control system and the way everything is designed around it is ingenious. The art style looks great, too.

(Though for some reason I keep getting distracted by characters' lips. I don't know why, but they kinda bother me. )

Not touching this game, then.

Zelda or not.

I'm not concerned about the motion control - how can you know how good/bad it is for you unless you try it? (The most motion control I've used before is pretty much limited to controller shaking.)

I've got it reserved, but chances are unfortunately high I won't really be able to do much until a couple weeks into December. I'm just glad the MotionPlus came with my Wii.

To be fair, touch controls and motion controls aren't really comparable, except for people who shun anything other than standard button controls. Still, you have a point. You would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't at least try the game instead of walking away at the mention of motion controls.

(And Shadic, despite the touch controls, Spirit Tracks was a really charming game and a neat twist on classic Zelda. I recommend at least trying it once. The dungeons are great!)

Game Informer and Edge both gave it 10/10, so let the praise begin - I think the embargo actually lifts at midnight for full online reviews.

Lately my Wii has been gathering a little bit of dust thanks to the 360, but... the impressions I've seen make it sound as if they NAILED the motion controls. Very curious to see how the full impressions look... likely a purchase. But we'll see.

(Note: I never played TP. Granted, I could buy it for $20 now, but... still never picked it up. Yay for non-Twilight Hack Wii exploits being created!)

Going to pick mine up this Sunday.

Gold Wii-Mote for me.

...

...

(As you can see by my current layout, I am a little excited for this game.)

Sigh.

I hate motion controls. It's a shame as many games are apparently good despite it.

Unfortunately, this also means it's no longer something I can enjoy. Motion controls make me sick.

GameSpot finally put up their review, and...
