Okay, I admit it. Sometimes when I'm feeling lazy or nostalgic, I use a gravy mix. Pork gravy from McCormick. Like, take today when I had T-bone steak leftover from my mom's dinner at my parents' place for lunch. Yes, I used a just-add-water pork gravy mix, but you know what? I reheated the steak in about a tablespoon of butter melted on a stainless steel pan. The steak left all these drippings and all this fat all over the pan and then I mixed the gravy on top of it, enhancing the gravy's flavor and texture with those little tiny pieces of steak that didn't make it to the plate.

Then I served it with the steak and some quinoa cooked in my rice cooker with Trader Joe's organic low sodium chicken stock. A delicious lunch all thanks to the help of a wonderful stainless steel pan some old tenants left behind. If you care about sauces (if you don't, you should), a stainless steel pan is of course no less than your very very best friend.

I pan-fried two fillets of tilapia today, one for me and one for my mother and then I ate my portion and half of hers because I just love fish that much. It was a mostly nothing special pan-frying experience dredged in flour and fried in safflower oil plus a tablespoon of butter for flavor. I was going to have it with quinoa but the rice cooker malfunctioned for some reason and didn't start cooking it.

So I just had fish for dinner.

Then I drank a really really nice glass of "lots of pulp" Tropicana-brand orange juice with added calcium that I mixed with some pomegranate seltzer water.

I just tried that Chef Boyardee canned spaghetti.

It's... alright, I guess. If nothing else, it is food and it doesn't taste like ass.

I actually don't like their spaghetti. Beef ravioli is fine even if I really don't know what's in that filling.

Supper tonight at work was an excellent use of leftovers. Sunday's meal? Breaded turkey cutlets. Tuesday's meal? Breaded turkey cutlet sandwich on a fresh bun.

For breakfast, I had a two-egg omelet seasoned with sea salt, black pepper and chives and filled with sharp cheddar cheese and a side of quinoa followed by a nice cold glass of orange juice enhanced with pomegranate seltzer water. A start to a beautiful, beautiful day.

Lunch was yellow rice, french-style green beans, and baked chicken. Oh how good it was!

The sheer goodness of it was only embiggened by the mango juice I drank with it.

I can't blame you very much. Their "beefaroni" is actually somewhat decent, though... and when I have the ravioli I actually tend to put Tabasco sauce on it - makes it pretty good.

About to have a steak again because god I don't know what else to eat. Dinner sucks.

Oh, right! Beef-a-roni is good too.

Cordon Bleu meatballs (in a can; local product actually) are decent as well. You can tell it has the processed taste (so you wouldn't want to eat a huge can) but the gravy's thick and you can easily have a small can with some bread to dip into the gravy.

Not quite sure what possessed me to do so but I just bought and ate a "Big and Toasty" sandwich from Dunkin Donuts. How do you think it was?

If you said probably a lot like every other piece of fast food garbage, then you are correct.

I wonder if you've tried their lasagna as well, then - fortunately it's just the noodle type things and some beef, which is good.

Just had pizza (think this) for dinner.

In an effort to have a more Asian and healthy lifestyle, I've jumped on the "less red meat, more fish" bandwagon which I can say is only possible now because of my interest in sushi. Seriously, guys, I went from eating virtually no fish to eating raw fish every week and it was pretty awesome, like, I never really noticed before how awesome raw fish was.

Tonight, though, I'm having fish that's cooked. Dinner is a pan-seared tilapia filet served on top of a bed of sautΓ©ed yau choy (that's "rapeseed" to you) with a side of brown rice. The tilapia was dredged in flour that's been mixed with sea salt, black pepper, roasted ginger powder and garlic powder and then seared in a mixture of safflower oil and margarine on a nonstick skillet for about two minutes each side and then placed on a bed of yau choy, like I said, which was sautΓ©ed in olive oil and seasoned with black pepper, sea salt and garlic powder. Using the leftover oil in the skillet, I mixed together oyster sauce, some water, roast ginger powder, garlic powder and chopped chives to make my sauce, which I then poured over the fried tilapia fillet. For some extra awesome flavor, I poured the leftover sauce in a bowl and put the brown rice on top of it.

The presentation is very much inspired by every presentation I've ever seen for dishes like this in those more-authentic Chinese restaurants and you have absolutely no idea how oh-so-very proud I am of this dish. Though I probably could have garnished the dish with chives on top, too, and serve it in a slightly deeper dish. Yummy ichthyic meals like this are my anti-steak.

Shockingly, tonight's supper was turkey.

Unfortunately, it was kind of dry and bland. :\ Not my mom's fault since she didn't make it actually - my aunt did. It was a turkey from Ontario so there you go.

Oh, and dessert was a dry pound cake too.

These days I eat smaller portions at meals and have tiny nutritious little snacks in between consisting of nuts or berries. Sometimes, it's a medium-sized Granny Ramsey Smith green apple. Sometimes, it's kiwifruit. But today it's these totally huge raspberries and the world's most amazing blueberries ever. They're big and succulent and full of sweet blueberry flavor.

For official record, they're EXPOFRUT.

I just got a beverage off the lunch truck. It's Calypso black cherry lemonade. It has dark things floating in it (which look questionable), but I think it's just the cherry juice that has given the lemon pulp its moldy color.

Let's hope so.

Home made sub sandwich, turkey and cheese. Also a small bag of Doritos, cool ranch flavor. I should get some lettuce and tomato to put on these sandwiches. It'd kick them up a notch. Right now they're just plan meat and cheese with mayo and mustard.

For lunch, a sandwich with roastbeef, lettuce, and pepperjack cheese (there were tomatoes, but I took them out because I'm unnecessarily picky)... and for dinner, a chicken burrito. Not a bad day, food-wise...

Hi, me!

I always take out tomatoes whenever I encounter them. This is also why I rarely eat salad, because it often involves high amounts of tomatoes.
