c. May 2003 - June 2004: AOL for Windows
2003? - 2006: Internet Explorer 5.1 for Mac (SCHOOL)
June 2004 - 2007: Internet Explorer 6 (and some its re-skins, also Netscape 8)

You have an excellent memory, young Padawan.

As for me, I guess uh Netscape up to 6, then IE, Mozilla/Phoenix and eventually Opera, which is where I am now.

I don't really have time periods, so here you go, with far more details than anyone could ever care about:

I think my first browser was probably AOL 3.0 for Windows... I didn't really make a mental distinction between AOL's walled garden and the "internet" at the time. At some point I ordered a CD of Netscape 4 (I think it was 4.05, so probably 1998) In around 1999 as I recall we got DSL, and I think that I may have started using IE at that point... I remember trying to go back to Netscape but Netscape 6 was awful.

At some point I switched to Mozilla Phoenix (I think this was like 2002) because IE was getting too clogged with crap (yay Windows 98), and then we got a new computer and I upgraded to Firefox and stuck with that for awhile. (on the old computer I had never upgraded beyond Firebird 0.8 out of fear that newer versions were too bloated)

From '05-'07 I didn't really really have my own computer (my sister took the one I had been using), so I had to use a work computer which only had IE6. Eventually I got a computer back (after my sister got a new computer), and I used Firefox there, then later in 2008 I got a laptop, which has run Firefox since then. When I got this MacBook in 2011 I used Safari for a few months, but now use Firefox/Nightly mostly.

I think that covers everything...

Paulguy's Post configuration
Boy you sure like using old shit. :p

AOL 2.5/3.0 : 1997 - 1999

This was in Windows 3.1 and 95. I don't remember much of it, other than going to a few places related to nickelodeon and cartoon network and downloading shareware games. I also didn't really know the difference between "AOL" and "Internet". My computer at the time was just way underpowered, though so it was mostly useless, until the Windows 95 computer. It was generally OK, then.

IE 5 - 6 : 1999 - 2004

Windows 95 and 98 SE. We had ditched AOL because no matter what we did or who we called, we could only get a connection probably equivalent to like 9600 baud. We changed to some local dial-up service, then to PeoplePC, when we got a cheap piece of crap computer from them, then I moved to grandma's and we had NetZero for a while.

Firefox 0.7 (Firebird) - 2.x : 2004 - 2009

Windows 98 SE and XP, Linux. I still had dial-up when I got Firefox. I then got a newer computer, and had figured out how to use Windows Dial-Up Networking. That alleviated some of the network and processing overhead of the relatively heavy NetZero client. I was also able to mess around with linux a bit too, since someone had helped me set it up with pppd. In 2005 I finally got DSL.

Opera 9, 10 : 2009 - 2010

I had started using Linux pretty much full time by this point. Video drivers and god knows what caused Firefox to be laggy with rendering, and someone recommended Opera (I believe it was Kawa.). So I tried it and it fixed the rendering issues. Basically it worked, and that's about it.

Chromium god knows what versions but a lot : 2010 - 2011

I might have also used Firefox for a bit between Opera and Chromium. I remember issues with GIFs and other annoying problems. with Firefox 3.x around this time, so I started using Chrome (Chromium) for a little while. Again, it worked, but not much else. A bit nicer than Opera since it had some form of extensions.

Firefox 3 - 7 : 2011

Then I got sick of the lack of good extensions and other annoyingness with the oversimplified interface, so I went back to Firefox. My current Firefox theme doesn't use a whole lot more space than Chromium and exposes a lot more functionality.

Some of the dates and versions are probably off a bit.

EDIT: adding some information

#62
1999-2000: Netscape 4, then 6 for a while
2001-2004: Internet Explorer 5 then 6 (sometimes Mozilla or early Firefox)
2005-now: Firefox 1.0 to 4.x 7 [current release version]

I started with Netscape on a bugged Windows 95 that couldn't run Internet Explorer properly, then switched once I got a new computer, and eventually stayed with Firefox soon after 1.0 came out ...

I also tried Opera and Chrome a bit, even kept Opera as a second browser, but neither of them made me switch from Firefox yet

2003 - 2005: AOL's browser (IE I guess) and sometimes Opera.
2005 - 2007: Firefox and variations of it, with Opera sometimes.
2008 (first half): Firefox (still with variations), then IE 5.5. What do you want from a machine with 28MB of RAM?
2008 (second half): Still Firefox, and Opera / Chrome now and then. On laptops, I usually used Opera.
2010: ...Firefox, Safari, Opera... shit, I dunno.
2011: Firefox, Chromium, Opera (main in VMs), Safari (on OS X only), w3m, elinks... and Midori on my netbook.

Yeah, web browsers are a constantly changing thing nowadays. I'd say my main ones are Firefox and Safari, though.

Oh god.. let's see:
1995 Built in browsers of AOL, Prodigy etc than:
1995 IE 2 and and Netscape Navigator 3
I switched to Linux is it was Netscape for a while I than used IE4 in NT5 B2
I tried to compile Mozilla on day one of the code release, and of course it didn't compile. It took 12 hours on my 75mhz and I got bumkis for it. heh

As soon as Firefox 2.0 came out I've stuck with that. I'm up to beta 8 now. This is for all Platforms.
I've played with all of them off and on. I still like the extensions for Firefox.

199?: Prodigy's browser
1998?-2003?: Internet Explorer (both IE and AOL starting in 2001 I think)
2002: Netscape 6 (no idea why)
2003-2010: Firebird/Firefox
2009-now: Opera

Not listed: tons of shitty IE shells made in Visual Basic, several by me

Hmm... let's see.

2001-2006: IE6
2006-2007: IE7
2007-2010: IE7 + Safari
Late 2010: IE7 + Safari + Firefox
Until Last Month: IE7 + Safari + Firefox + Chrome
Now: IE8 + Safari + Firefox + Chrome

Not included are the random browsers on the random computers I used, which included IE_ and Netscape. As you can see, I'm not too picky.

I've got no idea about the time periods, but for the longest time it was IE (yes I know ) until about two years ago, when I switched over to Chrome. Firefox a bit here and there as well, but Chrome was/is my main browser.

Netscape, IE (on Windows 3.1 to start!), Firefox. Occasional Chrome usage as well.

AOL --> IE --> Firefox --> Opera

As far as major browsers go, and as far as I can remember.

Started with Netscape Navigator, switched between it and IE for a while, stuck with IE for a bit, switched to Firefox somewhere around version 0.8 (the oldest installer I can find on my computer), been using it almost exclusively since then.

It was kinda neat being one of the relatively few people using Firefox back in '04...

Used IE6, switched to Firefox, stayed there. Also added Chrome as backup browser down the line, but Firefox is still the main browser.

I am boring.

Netscape → IE → MSN Explorer → IE → Opera (→ Firefox → Chrome) → Firefox

I think my biggest major change was from Opera to Firefox on my desktop. I use TenFourFox on my iBook.
