Not really, no. The server runs towny to prevent griefers, so it's fairly open, even for guests. Registering an account is free and all too when you decide if you want to play on the server or not.

Could go play on Kirb's server, it's often empty, but a lot of the people here tend to hang out on it.

Might not be empty this weekend though. Kirb and I are working on an EXP grinder (found 2 cave spider spawners). I'll probably edit in the IP later :V

Griefing only happened once since it's mostly a server passed around between known people.

I'll just be lazy and paste what I said on twitter:

"minecraft 1.0 is out, and it is the same. don't bother grabbing it, there's no adventure mode or reason to play it yet, stay with b1.8.1"

... unless you REALLY want to break all the mods you're using (because let's face it -- playing minecraft without any mods is like using a cheese grater on your face) just to get half-baked enchanting, a really lame "ending," and some optimizations.

I'll wait for a more substantial update before I throw away my 1.8.1 minecraft.jar and millenaire, equivalent exchange, etc.
