Because the makers of the new loony toons show sure don't. There is no syncing with the music, there is a story, but it's not paced well. I mean, just compare that with this:

<object width="420" height="315"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7cwtK4bnhDM?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

They use sound effects for effect, they push animation for comedic effect.

Also, there is a wonderful lack of fanservice in the older version.

It's just a sort of lost art, really.

People paid more attention to what they made back then. There's a small hint of the old joke-style in the new one, but it's sort of lost. Ironically the newer version isn't so much parodying Heavy Metal than playing right into its tropes--it seems they know more about doing a proper Heavy Metal video (even if a slightly silly, disconnected one) than making a Looney Toons cartoon.

Man, now I really wish I had Boomerang or something. I sort of grew up with Looney Tunes if only because they were still being rerun on Cartoon Network when I was younger. The old cartoon is just genius with its musical timing, I never noticed how synced it is when I was younger.

It's too bad about the newer cartoon, I mean, it could be good but it didn't really feel like Looney Tunes to me.

I'll have to show my boyfriend this thread and see what he thinks and then record the ensuing data. :U

Personally, the show is okay. I mean it's at least better than fucking Garfield and Johnny Test.

Those shows suck

...I might not care about the new Looney Toons or its weird songs, but that was great. Daffy would think like that.

He would, in all honesty.

Though the classic cartoons are the pinnacle of cartoon comedy. No exceptions.

And has a cartoon considered the best ever produced. And when you know that the Library of Congress is preserving three cartoons at the National Film Registry directed by the animator Chuck Jones, then shit. You know that person owns.

Tex Avery would like to have a word with you. :p

The most striking thing about the first video is the striking contrast between the dream sequences and the normal sequences, in that the dreams look like they have actual effort put into them. :p

This has to be probably my favorite Looney Tunes cartooon. You want to talk musical timing, this is a prime example.

heh I remember all these. They were great when I was little and they're still pretty funny now, especially when you get the inappropriate innuendos.

Also, ew TV camrip.
