So they're not books, whatever. Still. Do you read them?

We actually have 2 here in Vegas that I know of (the two major ones, at least) -- The Las Vegas Sun, and the Las Vegas Review Journal.

If that latter one sounds familiar, it may be because they're the group that spawned Righthaven, the worst copyright troll since the MPAA/RIAA. Go look them up.

Anyway, I usually read the Sun in the mornings before leaving; it only takes a few minutes to read through most of the major articles on my iPad before I leave for work, and it keeps me up to date on the goings-on, especially traffic issues. (Luckily, Russel Rd.'s construction isn't going to have an effect on my commute. )

It's actually kind of amusing; the LV Sun and LV RJ are two independent newspaper publishers, but they have a distribution agreement, so you subscribe to the LV RJ and you get both the LVRJ and the Sun (contained within). I like to think of it as just a fairly large wrapper to get to the real newspaper

My family used to be subscribers for the Chicago Tribune, the Sun Times (which is the Sunday version of the CT, I think) and the Southtown Star. THough the Tribune kept bugging them to the point where we're no longer subscribed to them. We still have the Southtown Star, but I'm still pissed because all the GOOD Sunday comics are in the other paper.

I mean, Southtown Star has Monty... but that's about it.

My parents subscribe to the Boston Globe (which when I'm at home I usually read daily, at least the editorial pages), the Patriot Ledger (a Quincy newspaper that usually doesn't get read, I don't know why we subscribe to it honestly), and the Hingham Journal (which is a weekly newspaper and the most local of the three, which I also try and read)

I don't read any local newspapers for the college area... Honestly I probably wouldn't read them at home if my parents didn't buy them either, I get most of my news from the internet.

The only local newspaper in our area is for the large metro area nearby. I do have newspapers in my apartment frequently because I write for the College newspaper. That's the only reason I read it though. I'm mildly allergic to the ink in papers so I sneeze around them all the time. That's why I just get all my news online.

Nope. I was never big on newspapers anyway.

Same here. My parents would get the Sunday paper, that was about it. I'd grab the funnies and gadget ads, though. Even though I could never buy anything, I liked to scoff at the ridiculous prices retail stores charged for PCs. I never read any other sections or articles though, still don't. I get my tech news online.

Hearing people call comics, "funnies", is a bit odd.

I read an LGBT newspaper in the area called Bay Windows. They're pretty cool and deliver quality queer-related content.

I very rarely read a newspaper. I used to read the Hartford Courant's comics when I still lived at home quite a while ago, but that was about it except for the occasional interesting story that was generally presented to me by someone else.

Occasionally at work. They keep free copies of the Katahdin Press and Bangor Daily News in the break room at Hannaford, so I'll flip through them while on break.

I'm not sure about where I'm living now, but where I grew up, it was just the Oliver Chronicle, and lately it's just crap. The locally-owned and operated, non-profit town news blog does a better job of reporting than the newspaper.
