How far do you end up having to drive every day? Anything noteworthy on the trip?

My drive takes about 20 minutes taking the "long way" (with the least amount of turns required), so I might mix it up today...

There's nothing of real interest on the current route, other than the really ridiculous amount of stoplights. Green Valley Pkwy is so full of stoplights it's stupid. A strip mall exit has a fucking stoplight, for crying out loud. D:

Paulguy's Post configuration
probably should take a route with fewer stops. You'll get better distance traveled per volume of fuel.

it takes me around 15 minutes to get to school every morning. i live pretty far out so it's actually kind of quick for me. though i'm running out of gas constantly. since i only usually fill the tank up half way, because i'm really conservative with my cash, i tend to run out like every week. it's ridiculous.

My dorm is across the street from the main campus. As such, it takes 10-15 minutes for the bus to get there from when it picks me up. Other stops and such. And the fact that there's no direct road into campus nearby and we have to go a long roundabout way to get in.

It normally takes me 20 minutes to drive to school, assuming that the roads are in good condition, and assuming that I don't have to stop for the trains.
Although some days I need to take transit, and that ususally takes me 40 minutes to get to school.

Google maps says 5.1 miles 11 minutes. In reality, with lights and minor traffic, it takes me about 15-17 minutes one way. On the way home, it usually takes 1-2 minutes longer because of a bad traffic light with lots of construction and the right turn lane is merged with a straight lane for now.

I ride my bike to work. I can get there in ten minutes if I really want to but I tend to take my time and get there in about 15 or 20 minutes. If I drive, I can get there in about 5 minutes or 10 minutes, depending on traffic and lights.

My commute last summer when I was working was around an hour one way, but that was by train rather than driving... (driving would have been faster, but parking in Boston is )

Takes me about seven or eight minutes to drive to Hannaford. It's up a big hill, but nothing really noteworthy about it aside from that.

Going to the high school to sub is about a four to five minute walk. If I walked faster, it'd probably be more like three.

Takes me 15-20 minutes to get to the Scout Shop. The drive is really unremarkable. There's not really a different way I could go either, I'm pretty sure it's the fastest way there.

It varies for me everyday but usually it takes me about 15 minutes to go to and from work.
When there is other people on the bus it will take 1 or 2 hours, sometimes I'll be damn lucky to make it home by 7pm due to drama in traffic or picking up people.

I bike to school. It's 10-15 minutes away.

I drive through a housing development, then through the university's internal roads. My main obstacle is pedestrians. That and people on skateboards. It's not very interesting but there are plenty of trees on the way.

I can't drive a car but using the tram it's about 40 minutes to school for me, taking two trams. It's pretty boring since it's right through a big city, and usually on the way there you don't even get to sit.
It used to be 15 minutes for four years, but two years ago the school moved.

I take the bus each day to the university from my apartment. It's about 75 minutes there and 90 minutes back (schedules change over the course of the day). Yes, I'm on a bus for almost three hours each day. Thankfully, it gives me tons of time to get my readings for my classes done so I'm pretty much always caught up.

Oh, noteworthy things? Cars and trees.

I ride the bus to college. It takes 15 minutes either way, and in the morning there are usually no empty seats when I get on. There is nothing interesting to see, unless you really like trees and houses and small businesses.

This morning, the bus was absolutely packed. It was the first time I'd ever seen so many people on that bus.

you know nothing of stoplights until you have seen LA traffic. seriously. It's bad enough that there's so many, but it really doesn't help that the concept of green meaning MOVE is foreign to just about everyone here.

My general route to and from campus is about 30 minutes the "long" way (straight down Burbank blvd.) or 15 minutes if I take the highway to shave off the bulk of that trip. Of course, what SHOULD be a 15 minute trip usually escalates in to taking as much if not more time than the long way these days, and compromises 110% of my sanity in the process. There's not much along the way other than misc restaurants, Mexico part 3 (Van Nuys has the distinct honor of being Mexico part 2 ) and auto-related businesses. if you were to take the highway, its nothing but a sea of breaklights and bullshit. There are far more interesting parts to this area other than this route, trust me

I don't really go too many other places. Its about 20 minutes to a half hour to get to downtown LA or Little Tokyo from where I'm at. Scenery is mostly the highway, and much less of a cool urban feel than you get from places like Boston, but actually getting there isn't quite so bad. I'd still take Boston over downtown LA any day though, scenery-wise.

6 minute walk to the bus stop, ~30-minute drive down to Dorchester St., then ~30 minute drive up to campus.

I'd have to say about an hour and 10 minutes at the most.

Hmm, I didn't know you lived in boston, it's beautiful place to live in but I don't think I could bare the winter tempatures down there for long.

I have type 1 diabetes so whenever it gets to be too cool my body starts to weaken up real fast.
Have you ever gotten a chance to visit new hampshire over the weekend in the summer ?

I grew up in Marlborough and my family still lives there. We actually used to have a winter house in New Hampshire that various family members would use at different points. I don't recall ever going during the summer though... though I did go up to Maine often and that was quite nice
