So there's something going on today about iPhones. Rumor is there will be two new models, 4S (cheaper version of the 4) and the 5. Just under 2 hours to go from the time of this posting, can't wait to see whats coming. I probably won't be able to upgrade since I just my 4 last year in September but I still like seeing shiny new gadgets.

Rumor round up:

iPhone 5
- 4" screen
- A5 dual core like iPad 2
- 4G LTE
- 64GB model
- thinner tapered case like iPad 2
- wider home button

The anticipation is eating in to my work schedule today!

Just an iPhone 4S, I knew it all along. I post on Macrumors sometimes and everyone was expecting the list above. I knew Apple wasn't going to do all that.



A5 chip is the main upgrade so far. Dual core, and also dual core graphics.

Updates:

- No 4G, but updated antenna system that allows for near 4G speeds supposedly.
- Combined CMDA and GSM versions
- New camera, 8mp @ 3264 x 2448 & 1080p video recording
- Airplay mirroring, 1080p wired or wireless (that's actually really cool)
- (Smart) Voice recognition, called Siri





The voice stuff looks really cool, I hope it works on the iPhone 4 since its more an iOS feature than just the iPhone 4S.

The bizarre thing is that apparently case manufacturers were so convinced of the "5" design that cases exist for it. I wonder if they decided fairly late in the process to use the older design. (which I like, admittedly- though I don't have an iPhone)

I bet the jailbreaker types will figure out how to get the Siri running on older iPhones pretty quickly. Though I've never been a huge fan of voice control even from a theoretical standpoint.

Oh man. Didn't think Apple had it in them to troll everyone, but...

(Then again... last year (and this year's) Nano. I swear, I was staring at that thing for several minutes going "...that's a joke, right?")

Having said that, even though only very minor improvements were made... I want a Touch.
