Not as bad as I would have imagined, and doesn't even hurt much after the numbness wore off.

I narrowly avoided having to have something similar done recently. Had a nice tooth infection causing horrid pain, but antibiotics killed the pain dead and it didn't return.

I've been told that I'm loosing bone in my teeth faster than normal. hence the extra cleanings, to deal with the build up so it doesn't eat away at my teeth.

Wow, that was an awful pun.

Anyway, about a year ago I had 4 wisdom teeth and a baby tooth removed, then over the past half year, had a tooth implant put in the place of the baby tooth. The crown was put on just about a week ago. The implant installation involved drilling a hole and screwing a kind of standoff thing in to the jaw, then a small bolt thing installed while it healed. Then that was taken out and a post put in, then the crown was cemented to that. I've never been terribly limited. The first day I had my teeth taken out, I was eating pizza. :p

The only time I had a tooth removed was when an adult tooth was growing under a baby tooth that was loose. It coincided with a dentist appointment, so he numbed me up (with a spray, because oh my god that fucking needle) and pulled it out.

I used to have really bad teeth (I need to stop bolding things, I keep opening my bookmarks) because I didn't brush. Which resulted in gingivitis and dentist appointments every 3 months. I also lost the braces I was wearing because I didn't clean my teeth, so whoo overbite.

Now, my dental hygiene has increased dramatically in one year to the point where I don't have to see the dentist for a check-up for another year, but I chose to see him in a couple of weeks to get braces again

I had teeth extracted because I had too many. Which is weird. Otherwise only deep cleanings and cavity-fixing work. Though the pain for me is so extreme that they have to use sedatives to knock me out.

Too many? Erm... you mean teeth + wisdom teeth or teeth + wisdom teeth + demon teeth which should not exist?

The needle's FINE when you're used to it. I used to be scared of it too, trust me... but it's really not that bad.

I don't know what people have about needles. Sure it feels weird having your gum stabbed and injected with a needle, but it's quick and only happens very very rarely, so just suck it up for the moment and deal with it. :p If it was something I needed every day (god I hope I never get diabetes) it'd suck.
